Sounds like he's just trolling for some attention - and it worked.

This trend within journalism to just pick up stories from social media is depressing.

It's easy and cheap to do.

Old style journalism is in real trouble. There isn't enough money any more to pay journalists or photographers to get out and do proper journalism. So much of what we read and see now has been fed to the media by PR organisations or is trawled from the internet.

I have noted that over the past few years, stories relating to what's said on Twitter, usually by something the media calls 'celebrities' make headline news!

Actually I think he really is that stupid, but granted it could be classic Poe's law and judging from the trending there are people out there that are really that stupid.

Suspect the only time he's been near a vagina was when he was born.

Absolutely no surprise whatsoever when the article mentioned he was an avid Brexit campaigner.

I read the article, and the below rang true where you're concerned, you are Ryan:

"In fact Ryan is soft-spoken, uncertain and infuriating. Ryan isn’t trying to be funny. He’s just a boy on the internet who doesn’t have a fking clue how offensive he’s being, or how stupid he really is".

Sad that it's going this way, and the danger is that they can make the views of a handful seem like the common consensus. Although I guess it saves them a lot of money by just getting a few interns to browse Twitter and post stories of "social media users reacted with outrage after...." or their own Facebook feeds for "incredible picture that has internet users stumped - can YOU see the real image?"

Gee, you're a pathetic little child, the sooner you get bored and find a new forum to troll, the better,

So true. frown
The Mail is great for this - some stories are just reports on Reddit or Mumsnet threads.

My favourite is stories that feature something happening in a piece of video/dashcam footage, and the accompanying text says something like "it is not clear where in the UK this took place".

I've taken to commenting "as you are a journalist, why don't you go and find out?"
