Is privacy glass becoming council?
Discussion
I wouldnt buy a car without privacy glass (in the majority of cases).
I dont think it is as black and white as you are making it out to be, depends on the car, colour, condition and more importantly on the actual glass.
Factory privacy glass looks the best because they are at legal levels and are not "blacked out"
Now if you are talking about purposly getting limo pitch black tints then thats ugly and always has been unless its on an appropriate car which there are only a handful.
What is probably a bit council is slagging off someone elses car

I think they're bloody annoying. If someone parks forwards into the parking space next to the one you're in you can't see through their rear side windows to see if anyone's coming when you're trying to drive out of your parking space. It becomes an act of blind faith.
That's the result of chasin' statusTazLondon said:
Decades ago cars would either come with or have the option of tinted glass - usually blue, green or grey and you also had the option of a sun shade-band at the top of the windscreen.
It made the car look a little more elegant and the implementation was tasteful.
Fast forward a couple of decades and we now have privacy glass. There seems to be a race on to have the blackest windows all around the car these days. It seems to be attracting the wrong crowd.
So, is privacy glass, which has become the modern version of tinted windows, becoming council?
People who ask 'what is council' are often the very definition. It made the car look a little more elegant and the implementation was tasteful.

I saw someone in a council estate with a black car, should we label that as council too?
Use your brain for goodness sake.

I know, right? I honestly don't know why I bother getting pissed off with half the dheads on this site simply because they can't be bothered to read a fking thread properly.Did I bring dogs, heat and glare into it?
no, so perhaps now you can understand how you get so annoyed dhead.
I think Privacy glass is council
Justify the use of tints anyway you like....there are better alternatives.

...it's pretty cruel to leave an animal in a parked car alone for any length of time IMO...
Honestly, it's dheads like you that just make this site such a pain in the arse to visit. No-one ever mentioned leaving dogs or animals alone in cars and yet YOU managed to bring it up. God knows why, it's got feck all to do with anything so go and ram your head in a combine.Osinjak said:

No, of course they didn't...gizlaroc said:
We tend to have it as we can leave the dog in the back and no one can see him in there.

And let's not forget, either, that we're talking about modern cars with aircon in the UK.
Not when it is parked up. Edited by TooMany2cvs on Tuesday 25th October 15:41

Presumably you didn't bother to read the thread before setting off on your rant,Osinjak said:
I like it and it keeps my Spaniel a fair bit cooler, remarkably effective.

I said......"We tend to have it as we can leave the dog in the back and no one can see him in there." It is far safer when popping into a shop fro a minute or so if no one can see him in there.
I also said that when you leave your car all day, one with tints will be a lot cooler than a car that has none, it stops the greenhouse effect greatly.
Like Osinjak said, It is also much nicer being in the back of the car with tints as even with the best air con you don't have the sun coming through the glass on you.
This was spun into leaving dogs in a hot car is cruel.
