Sounds impressive, who said v8s are thirsty wink

I had my own MPG test last weekend, drove a steady 45 miles, averaging 53mph. 38.4mpg from a 4.2 V8 Supercharged! Very boring though...

My comments about the cut-out activating just prior to coming to a halt stand...clearly to come to a complete stop without stalling, it is necessary to start to depress the clutch before actually stopping...isn't it? (I do not make a habit of shifting to neutral when I'm about to be required to move off smartly...does anyone else?) I've been driving manuals for 40+ years, so I don't think it's me....what I don't like is the stop-start system anticipating a complete stop when one isn't necessarily intended. It has happened to me on a couple of different vehicles....

In my experience of a number of different cars with stop start, it does not operate like that. It should only cut the engine when you're stationary (or at least under walking pace), in neutral with your foot off the clutch.

I'd suggest all the cars you've driven were broken.

I easily exceed this, simply by keeping my garage locked!
