I grew up in a council house in the North-East, as did the vast majority of my mates, but we were all brought up with basic manners and decency. Gobbing on someone is just awful isn't it. I love how people commenting on the DM are putting the blame on the man who recorded her. Apparently it is all his fault, and he is a peado for "filming her kids" and her spitting reaction is completely justified. Because of course, if someone intimidates you, the best thing you can do to avoid trouble is spit at them and call them an ugly .

Yes, the scratters first response is obviously to call someone a paedophile, that is if the threat of violence isnt possible (only gobbing possible her being female and having two kids with her), if she hadnt been caught out it would be very easy for her to spread rumours like that. Then the terminally dim but enthusiastically violent, looking for a good witch hunt with some limited justification of someone accusing him of being a paedophile would be up from beating the living crap out of him, destroying his property etc, especially if he is a non scratter in a scratter area..Obviously filming on your own property is not allowable if someone wants to park there to avoid a walk.
Thing is, if she had been pleasant and charming, he would have possibly said, its ok for five minutes, I know I would be annoyed but seeing a mum struggling with two small kids I may have relented.
But no, the rule these days it, for those types anyway, go straight to Defcon five if anyone dares confront you, regardless of whether you are in the wrong.

The pubs are full of them all pulling the pout, photo after bloody photo. This current generation must be the most narcissistic bunch I've ever known, nothing else even comes close. I have a couple of cousins who are friends on instagram, and there are literally 100's of close up portraits of them pulling stupid bloody duck pouts. The best bit is when they're on holiday. They could be anywhere in the world for all I know as all you see is their bloody face again! She seemed genuinely horrified.

Oh, don't get me started on Instagram. My daughter was telling me how she had "200 followers" the other day. I asked who these people were, and apart from a handful of school friends and family (probably making up 20 of them at most), she doesn't actually know. But it's 200 followers, and that apparently is a good thing. When I asked why it was that she wanted all these followers, she couldn't actually give me an answer, except to say that all her friends compare follower numbers, and there's some sort of competition going on.The question of course is whether this generation is any more narcissistic than we were, or whether it's just that the proliferation of social media gives them the easy, always-available outlet for it that we never had. That cockiness and self-obsession of youth that we expressed in school or in our peer groups can be demonstrated far better and easier over social media, and in a myriad of ways that we wouldn't have dreamed of. I honestly don't know the answer.
