I had one of these, in this colour as a hire car for work for a week.

I came into it prepared to really hate it. Completely smitten, it is just a bloody good, practical, economical and comfortable Citroen.

And the styling makes it just mental enough to qualify for my "daft french cars i want" lottery collection.
I love these too! Citroen going back to their crazy roots.

This is very ugly beautiful!

They are like the brassy girl in the pub that you shouldn't be looking at but you know you must. I love them!
laugh I like that and totally agree.... i take my brassy girl out on summer weekend's for some fun....
I hate you then. I think they're fantastic. Especially in Estoril.
I'm more partial to "Dakar yellow" hehe:

Never thought of the Puma as ugly, quite a good looking mainstream car for its time.

I'm hitting 65mpg on a regular basis, mix of West London suburbs and M40 to Bucks. If my wife had this car as her daily, she'd only need 3 tanks of fuel a year!

Ugly? Maybe in some parallel universe, but not in this one. That is stunning.

Yep, gorgeous things in real life, much longer and lower than they look in pics.

Not trying hard enough. I like them all except the Ford and the Cactus (I assume that's what it is). I think car designers can get away with being bold every now and again.

[quote=Trophy Husband]I'm sticking with the SAAB theme. I had one of these XUG 90X. Loved it to bits. 70-100 in top gear? Wow. Porsche eater at the time. Had to wrestle it around corners when on boost. The seats were nuts and it had a beautifully crafted boost gauge on a universal ball jointed aluminium shaft sticking up from the dash on the right. Blew two gearboxes in 30k miles. Replaced with a 1986 900S. Nothing ugly about these. When new( ish) they were just so powerful and well built too, they were fabulous in context. The looks now are greatly individualistic.

OK, but "unconventional" perhaps? FWIW very few of the cars in here are ugly by definition, they are just original and challenging designs.

Ugly cars are the Pontiac Aztec, or the Ssangyong Rhodius.

From an old thread from 2014 where someone made a similar argument about the 145:

Anyway, if you're going to have a 145, might as well go the whole hog of silliness, and have one with a flat four...

Back in the 80's I had Citroens as company cars , not cool but bloody brilliant cars . BX and a few CX Safaris , just thankful I wasn't paying the bills

I hit just over 70 mpg's on a 330 mile trip down to Ashford from North Wales. Me, the good lady, my two boys and a boot full of luggage. The numerous 50mph limits and roadworks probably helped. Trophy Wife averages just under 60 mpg's but she has a heavy foot. Her previous car was a C180 Merc which averaged 30 mpg's. The saving in fuel costs over 1200 miles/month pays 60% of the lease on the Cactus.

The 2.0 'Cloverleaf' was a good 30bhp up from the biggest boxer engine (1.7), and it made it a hell of a better car to drive. I had one and it went like a stabbed rat.

The F40, F50 and Enzo.

None of them are beautiful, the F40 and Enzo especially are almost downright ugly but all are great looking cars.
