I found the FTOoc were a nice bunch when I was part of it (10years back).

Mx5 clubs were always a bit odd though.

I'm unaware of the specific marque per se but I gather some local enthusiasts are so friendly they often meet in car parks after dark and often share their wives and pets out extensively with the other enthusiasts. Truely selfless.

It's weird that isn't it ?

Many of the most vociferous people on the forum seem to talk or share much about cars nor attend any meets.

Anyway SS always super friendly and engaging.

Air-cooled or water-cooled?

Air-cooled I'd agree.

Water-cooled absolutely not!
Sorry Air cooled.

A few years ago I was in a situation where we hosted a few events for various types of car clubs.

By far the nicest and most respectful group of people came from the Nissan Skyline club.
Worst by a country mile was the Renaultsport club, very closely followed by the water cooled VW clubs.

Honourable also mentions go to the Porsche club.

The classic Audi club are a very friendly bunch, perhaps helped by having a higher number of mature members.

I always find Ford groups to be the worst, if it isn't a Cosworth you're basically a peasant.

UKSaabs.co.uk is a great forum.

The Saab Owners Club can seem like a clique at first but you just need to look past a couple of individuals to see that the overwhelming majority of people are very friendly indeed. Not wife sharing friendly, just regular friendly!

Facebook is killing off most car forums sadly. I am treasurer for a newish local Saab Owners Club group and I run forum comms while the area director runs facebook comms. Try as I might I can't completely ignore facebook's existence.

(I sound like a miserable old man but I am a pretty tech savvy fella in his early 30s that just hates the constant drain of social media)

Club Lexus and Bimmerforums seemed helpful enough. Same for VWVortex (although some were s). R32OC were pricks!

Having been a member (and for a time chairman) of one of the oldest one make classic car clubs for many years, I resigned last year when I reached 65 (some of the leading members are still chugging along well into their 70s and 80s).
Since then I've enjoyed classic cars far more than I ever did, the friendliest bunch being the drivers I met on local charity drives who drove a whole range of different vehicles and within minutes of meeting were good humouredly taking the piss out of each others cars.

VW forums, bad.
Too much of a gap between people spending £1k on a car, £200 on coilovers vs people spending £1250 on coilovers and £13k on a turbo kit.

S2000 forums
Brilliant, knowledgeable.

Nissan Skyline Gtroc
Perhaps the most approachable of the lot.

PH
Waits for J4CKO's response.

I don't often go to meets
a) I'm not that sociable.
b) Car talk bores me after an hour or two.

But I always like to dip in and out of the technical side of various forums, although I lose a bit of interest if I no longer own that marque.

These are the best IMO

There's a club for the Nissan Navarra?? I imagine that forum is full of very angry men shouting at each other.
