I would've loved that. Good luck to the new owner!

Christ, I'd have given a grand for that, any day of the week - and I don't even like BMWs.
Why do I think we are going to see that car photographed against a white background on a classic car website with an asking price of £6,995

What did your wife call her fanny?

Why did I not buy this? For £900 that is an utter steal, especially with a full tank and years MOT. Sorry it had to go, I always get a little sad when I see a sold car drive away.

I've had my 730i for 13 years now. It's practically worthless with 300k but we've done so many epic trips that it's just 'my' car. Other stuff I've had from 1-5 years I couldn't give a toss about really.

you sold a tidy E30 for ONLY £900? you sir are a mad man. You haven't seen the 'seriously overpriced cars' thread have you? these things could easily be sold for £2k upwards. maybe double that if you pay someone £50 quid to take photos with a DSLR.

I agree that I didn't play this one that well. In my defence, the photos are quite kind and the lack of interior photos worked well for the ad.....

I would be gutted if it is resold for a profit!

Looks really nice, I would have priced that north of £1750

I wouldn't feel cheated - as you say it was a tatty 320i, not a Sport Evo. It might have made 1500 quid but the car owed you nothing and it was an easy sale.

You did the right thing; as much as it's been part of your life, it's your past life and that time is done. It would only bug you if you held onto it.

Did the same thing with my old 456. Owned that for over 10 years, the longest I've owned anything apart from my teeth! Swore I'd never sell it as it was my first Ferrari. But it was the same deal, it just wasn't getting enough use and the costs were still there so it had to go. It would be worth far more now than when I sold it ( a manual M), but no question it was the right thing to do and I don't regret it. A few years on all that I really miss is the smell of the interior, which was absolutely sensational. I doubt you'll miss the smell of your car's cabin though..

Much appreciated! I think that I have missed every car I have ever owned in one way or another!

These things end up owning you if you're not careful.

I had to sell my dad's A reg Toyota Landcruiser for him; he'd had it for 17 years from new and it did 268,000 miles and never ever ever broke down (it did need a radiator recoring once). He cried when it went.

Well at least another woman gets to enjoy your wife's fanny. Better than leaving it to gather dust.
