I went for the RX8 5 months ago. Absolutely brilliant car. I went for a blue R3. Looking forward to taking it on some road trips this year. The car is very addictive and the engine sounds great.

For me, the oft-mentioned Maserati 3200/4200, or a BMW M6 with the V10.

That being said, I had a 996 C4 once, which everyone said has an engine made from chocolate, and it was fine.

Having owned a bad rep car (but was actually faultless) , an RX-8. I would like an RX-7 and always have hankering for a Maserati Ghibli (90's box shape) despite knowing an owner of one in the past and that gave him nothing but trouble.

Land rover Discovery. I need a 7 seater, a Galaxy or S-Max would be sensible but...

Another Alfa GTV.

Well, I never took an interest in the old MGF as they have a crap reputation but having managed to bag one for the equivalent of probably £200, I am quite pleased with it. I'm surprised how fun it can be; will definitely be hitting a track in 2017.

I've always wanted a Maserati so last March I bought this

So far the problems have been minor and usually electrical but I do feel there's a bill coming soon I'm going to struggle to pass off unnoticed so trouble is on the horizon
I was set to buy one of these. 2003 4200 with 45k on th clock. Took one look at the itemised invoice for recent work = £14,563.45 (exact figure stuck in head) erm, no I shan't.

Happy new year.

Sorry.
Maserati for sale biggrin

This one is nudging 100,000 miles with a big box full of receipts over its 15 year life and I doubt all of them add up to that

There's plenty out there that go to main dealers and believe everything they're told ,there's a guy near me that breaks maseratis so used parts are available.

The cambiocorsa gearbox is reliable and uses Alfa parts , f1 pump is £1000 from Maserati, £300 in an Alfa box , clutch can be pricey £1500-2500

All the cars I've ever owned have had a clutch that gets fixed when it stops working but helpfully Maserati have installed a computerised guess in the software that tells owners they need to spend money with them because their clutch is almost worn out which is nice of them.

If it breaks and I don't have the money to fix it then I'll park it up until the house sells so I can biggrin

Dolly sprint never had a problem with it
TVR Chimera never let me down
TVR Tuscan rebuilt engine new clutch new slave cylinder cracked oil tank cost me a fortune but biggest mistake was selling it
Had four or five Mgb's apart from rust no problem, most unreliable car was my escort RS turbo 1986 but that was because it was chipped and probably overboosted detonated 2 engines
