Glorious! I had no idea these existed.
Crying out for a 1.8 VVC or T16 Turbo swap. I honestly can't imagine anything more embarrassing to be surprised by.
My thoughts exactly! I'm sure something bigger and more fun could be dropped in. Add some coilovers....Crying out for a 1.8 VVC or T16 Turbo swap. I honestly can't imagine anything more embarrassing to be surprised by.
And would a VVC actually be that fast in modern terms ?

Those era metro shape never came with K-series.... They all came with A-series engine. they all was made from 1980 till 1988 So get your fact right.
I'm pretty sure that's a K Series Metro.Company who made it are still in business!
22 year-old pic of one in Edinburgh. A-Series version by the look of it.

Don't know if a T16 would fit. Certainly wouldn't be easy. And would a VVC actually be that fast in modern terms ?
A VVC on the other hand would be quite simple. The 145bhp as standard would be quite entertaining in something weighing 850kg and they're quite easily tuned up to 180bhp with a modicum of reliability if looked after, giving well over 200bhp/ton. It's not going to go out Veyron baiting but it would certainly surprise a few people in things significantly more expensive!

Yep, easy to do a VVC conversion and quite quick too. A VVC on the other hand would be quite simple. save the T16s for the few remaining Tomcats!
Always wanted one of these as a sleeper, with the rear conversion being fibreglass, it would probably be a lot lighter than a standard metro and the CoG would potentially be lower.
Still overpriced though, maybe worth £300 if it wasn't already on it's way to flintstone floors...
I can vouch, 180bhp in a metro is still fast enough nowadays
