Dont think the NCAP rating 1 would bother the type of person who needed this vehicle boxedinredcardgetmecoat
Probably needed it due to a crash in a normal Metro

And I thought I should hand in my PH badge for eyeing up a Yaris Verso last week...

Please post something better next week.

A lot of Pistonheaders will be very unhappy about this week's effort.

Always wanted one of these as a sleeper, with the rear conversion being fibreglass, it would probably be a lot lighter than a standard metro and the CoG would potentially be lower.
Still overpriced though, maybe worth £300 if it wasn't already on it's way to flintstone floors...

I can vouch, 180bhp in a metro is still fast enough nowadays wink
I cant imagine the roof skin and tailgate on a standard Metro is that heavy and I can neither imagine that contraption with all the extra glass is lighter than the standard car, I would estimate its probably 20 to 30 kilos heavier.

One other thing about this is that it probably is even less crash worthy than a normal Metro, crashing a standard one was a good way to get an upgrade to the Chairman.

It's far funnier than a rusty 7-Series or an XJ with a short MOT. I'd much rather shed found cars like this to write about.

I've been a little bored with shed of the week but thanks to this article, all is forgiven. Brilliant - thanks shed!
Thoroughly agree far too many po-faced comments on what is a bit of friday fun!. biglaugh

You could turn it into a shop selling pens and envelopes. Then you'd have a mobile stationery store.

I'd like to see PH buy this and donate it to a family with a disabled child who can't afford an adapted vehicle.

Who's in?

I'd happily put in a few quid for that. Are you willing to organise it?

Practically though, I doubt anyone wants it. Motability and finance schemes for such people have moved on a lot since the early 1990s. That's one of the best things that has happened in that time

Great thread for flushing out those who are taking themselves, and life in general, far too seriously.

I like it when we are served up these oddball sheds, especially when accompanied by such a good write up.Keep up the good work Shed.

Not sure I have the time, I guess I should see where the thing is! My wife has a Motability car, so I'm well aware of the scheme, but I suspect there are people who can't give up the mobility payments to get a car. She's involved with some disability and ex-forces groups, I'll ask around and see if there's a demand.

better still, sell coat hanger shaded christmas decorations as well: you'd have a stationary mobile stationery mobile shop.

I once went to the desk at the entrance to the first year at an infants school to see how my mobile phone was working.

I was testing the reception at the reception of reception.

They gave me a frosty reception.

And now... back to the cars..

Looks like it's in Bucks, which isn't too far from me. My wife suggested calling Whizz-Kidz who provide kit for disabled children. Let's see how hard it is to give a car away!

Am I the only one wondering how hard it would be to extract all the fibreglass and have a weird 2CV/Fiat 500 type open roof instead?!
