Tyre fitter just wrecked my wheels!

Is that just a regular gloss black? Should be easy to repaint to OEM quality and finish. Must have been a pretty ham-fisted fitter to do that to them, though! I've never fitted any tyres, but it can't be that hard, right?
I have (work experience when I was 16 or so admittedly, so a long time ago) and you are right, it's not difficult as such. They will have noticed and I guess they hoped you wouldn't! David87 said:

It isn't. I did it as a weekend job when a student. It took a couple of hours to learn how to mount a range of car-sized tyres. Low profile tyres are harder to fit than high profile ones, but there is no reason to have all this damage to the spokes etc. Lorry and tractor tyres are more of an art, but car tyres are very easy.I'm thinking he's let the wheels fall on their faces or something negligent like that. There's no part of the tyre fitting process that should involve contact with the spokes, although if set to low the machine can scrape the very edge of the rim.

Looks like a bloody expensive car so why you're taking it to a well known tyre fitter is beyond me, unless you knew someone there. The main dealer would have been a better bet!
As for the damage, get it to your local The Wheel Specialist. They'll have seen it all before.
Why on earth would you go to a main dealer (Audi in this case) and spend more money for them to do a job they do once in a blue moon? Go to a specialist every time, but get one that is good, rather than ham-fisted.As for the damage, get it to your local The Wheel Specialist. They'll have seen it all before.
That's a simple fix OP no colour matching issues seeing as it's just a gloss black so that shouldn't be a problem.
This is very much a regular occurrence, in my job I fix a lot of these and also A-pillars from windscreen fitting! It doesn't excuse it but it's a lot more common than you think! Cannot believe they have tried to get away with that though!

Main dealer to get tyres fitted? Really? I didn't know they would have the tech and would assume they just ferry it out to the kwik fit and charge you extra for the benefit. As for the damage, get it to your local The Wheel Specialist. They'll have seen it all before.
I've used kwik fit and the like with expensive wheels and cars before and just have a conversation before hand agreeing that it is important no damage happens to the wheels and they usually put their "best guy" on the job.
I always give them a tip for doing it well and keep that relationship going. No issues so far.

Guffy, I know this is too late for you, but I have only used Tyre Devotion to fit tyres to wheels I give a st about. They got a good report on PCGB a few years ago and I'd hope they are still as customer driven as they were back then.
That's a bugger seeing that, I hope the offending company pays for the repairs without any heel dragging.

He blamed gravel in the tyre machine, thing is he managed to wreck both friggin wheels!!!
It was a mobile fitter, which I also used last year for the rear tyres, but he was older and clearly far more experienced than the young man I was saddled with. I have a great pic of his gormless face in the background, that alone should ensure a kuick response from the tyre fitting company.

There are benefits to doing this. For starters whilst you will inevitably pay more your contract will be with the main dealer rather than whoever they sub it out to. That would certainly be worth the peace of mind in my book.FWIW I supplied tyres I sourced online to my Ferrari dealer (they wanted to charge circa £600 more for the same rubber), which they fitted for me. Obviously cost a fair amount more than it would've done at Kwik Fit or whatever but I had the peace of mind in knowing that if someone in the chain screwed up the alloy that I could rant at the dealer to get it sorted, and that would've been a much easier and more sympathetic task than trying to fight with the likes of Kwik Fit directly.
As to the OP - it looks like the fitter let the wheel sit face down and/or fall onto its face.

Not sure where you guys go but both of the Toyota main dealers I've used offer full garage facilities, including tyres. The prices often aren't any worse than anywhere else. What I meant was 'even' a main dealer would have been better, I agree it's not the first place you think of.RW
Anyway, too late crying over spilt milk. A decent refurb place will have that sorted in no time for not too much money. It's sooo bloody annoying trying to find a decent tyre fitting place though. And then you find one and get a different guy on the job as in OP's case.
