What size tyres OP? (Not that's it's an excuse)
Cup 2's on a R8 V10+, they must be 19 or more like 20".

16" touring tyres are easy to change, they are not.

Not that it's an excuse though.
Yes, they're 19's.

I would say the much wider rears would be harder to work with and the same tyre fitting company had no problems last year, he did a great job.

Just get it refurbished, easy.

Hardly "wrecked".
And if that was your car you'd find it perfectly acceptable?? (although you would probably as you like to cut the chassis)

You can get mistakes/idiots at main dealers, large chains and independents. Get them to pay and move on.

If your wheels get damaged by laying them on the ground then maybe they're a bit silly. Just a thought.

It's not hard to restore that. The fitter was indeed ham-fisted. It's not hard to fit tyres, what it is hard to do is to remember to avoid putting the rim down wrong way up without protecting it.
REALLY? confused

If they are anything like the company that mullered mine (dark coloured round things) then good luck!

They got to the point of calling me a liar despite me showing them evidence then they just decided to make up their own version of events anyway but eventually conceded they had fked up but were only willing to offer me a sum for roughly 25% of the repair costs upon me producing an invoice for refurb. So I had to spend £300 that I would not have been spending had they not fked my wheels to get back £75 for the damage they caused to all 4 wheels.

You will need to prove that the wheels were not fked in any way before the fitter got hold of them

Did I say that I did?

I've been in this situation and I've got the non disclosure agreement to prove it!

And yes, bring up another thread - Good one. How does it feel to be 3 years out of date.

Also I would like to clarify I'm not saying he should be out of pocket.
Just that it can sometimes happen (damaging wheels) and usually a strong but polite word with the garage resolves it.

Ok, a bit of dramatic licence, but it's a damned annoying when you try really hard to look after something.
OP, I figured out (after having my wheels refurbed) that a shop that does alloy refurbishment is most likely to be the safest place to get new tyres fitted. I figured that as they'd managed to get the old tyre on the freshly refurbished alloy without damaging what they'd just repaired, then they should also be able to get new tyres fitted without damaging the alloy. Something worth considering for the future.
