Estimates were totally unrealistic, far too low...RM have done their job well.
What taken €100 off people just to register, then see the "estimates" to be the stuff of fantasy?!

Fatboy18, can you check what lot 690 sold for? Thanks

P
exactly rm took a nice summ of 100 euros not to metion flights and hotels. Yes it was a weekend away but the prices were a bloody joke. Some people bought some real junk. The vipers sold for stupid money. As club guys and knowing factory engineers we knew a lot about the cars and the price was simply not worth it.

We heard that rm paid 25 million for the right to aunction the lot. By Saturday close they had made 46 million! With Sundays lots still to go!

Hardly RM's fault, but some buyers must have taken leave of their senses - 8 year old MINI Clubman for not far off 20k with fees?

Correct, and it's non-running.

There were other comments about the pre-auction estimates... this was estimated at 15-20K, which was just absurd.

Somebody just paid 17k euro all in for a 2007 VW Beetle Cabriolet - 7k car if 0 miles/mint over here? Is it collectible/rare - does it have a porsche 935 engine in the boot/solid gold brake discs? - probably not. A good example of the bidding hysteria prevailing at the sale - there is simply nothing desirable now or in the future about this car. Dealers would give their eye teeth to meet some of these bidders with their current buying mindsets before they pulled the trigger!

the sheer volume and irrationality is such that when it's settlement day tomorrow with RM - i can't believe that the Guarda di Finanza would not be slightly intrigued if they had been presented with an opportunity at passing a cursory glance at the money trail that pays for these lots. I have bid what me and some mates thought was strong money on a few lots and we were not vaguely in the ballpark - that's before you have the hassle of some items under seizure so you don't collect for 10 days + i any case £1500/car to bring back - so i am out! Hats off to RM who got loads of us to register & in many cases bid serious amounts of cash

edit to add - 1990 panda 4x4 = hammer 12k euro - so 12% comm + 22% VAT on comm =
13,760 euros...! - summing it up nicely. They are quite sought after - nicest one in world is probably £6k? parked as a curio in a fiat garage showroom in europe. i know winters coming and 4x4 comes into it own but....

€21k plus fees
Which wasn't bad, given a set of Nardi twin chokes fetch £6/7K, the B20 engine on the pallet was allegedly the correct one for the €300K B20 Mille Miglia 5 times entrant, so makes sense if you want to pair up and double your money!

As for the rest of the prices, insanity or stupidity or worse IMHO!!!!! Local Italians were apparently bemused at prices paid......take from that what you will!

All a bit silly - the Daytona had no history, repainted, wrong wheels etc. and made nearly €900k. Surely you do your homework before dropping that sort of cash?

900k for a Daytona? I passed one up for £150k not long ago. Crazy money.

Some of those prices to be crazy, some of them look to be reasonable value. Because we weren't there to judge their condition its difficult to tell which is which. If I'd been there it would have been difficult to keep my hand down when the Bora came up...

Some of the boat results look very spendy to me, I'm not so clued up on the cars.

Has the Mafia bought it all back? Who would have been the under bidders to those numbers? Seems odd to me.

Nice touch for RM.
