After using Philips Xtreme Vision bulbs on previous cars with no problems I foolishy decided to give the Osram nightbreakers a go on my current vehicle - I wish I hadn't bothered.
One lasted under 6 months and the second one went at 13 months.
I won't be buying them again.
Did that experience inspire your username? One lasted under 6 months and the second one went at 13 months.

Nightbreakers are ok but they really don't last that long. I've been using them since January 2015 in my Mk1 Focus and judging by my order history the bulb I fitted this week was my fifth replacement in that time...
I've been getting them off ebay and paying around £7 a bulb though, so I can live with that.

Have you considered LED? If you get a decent set of LED's, the light output angle will mimic that of a normal Halogen bulb.
I've been running LED's as dipped, and Nightbreakers as my main beam for a while and my dipped beams are brighter and whiter.
Tell me more.... Reflector lamps or projector? Which led lamps did you get? I've been running LED's as dipped, and Nightbreakers as my main beam for a while and my dipped beams are brighter and whiter.
I am intrigued!

I'm running projectors on mine, which always seemed to make the nightbreakers look pretty underpowered. Here are the ones I used:I am intrigued!
