Gash wheels, 'virtually no rust' (= rust), and a couple of dash lights stay on. It's a no from me. The wheels were an option at (big - IIRC about £1700 at the time) extra cost on these, so could have been on the car since new. The wheels were also fitted as part of the Jaguar 'Sportspack' which included a limited slip diff, lower suspension with Billstein dampers and self levelling suspension. These cars had a dual tone coachline (red and grey on a silver car) and a nose-down stance similar to that of an Alpina. This car has lost the stripes (I suspect it has been resprayed) so that distinguishing feature is no longer present, but it (to my eyes) lacks the nose down look, so probably has the standard suspension.
The wheels are 16" forged lattice alloys made for Jaguar by BBS. If they are in good condition as they appear to be, then they are worth quite a few hundred pounds. They're rare and sought after in the old Jag world.

Any interest in this for the holding list for future events? The RAF and Cold War museum at Cosford: http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/cosford/plan-your-day....
Looks like a contender to me.bob-lad said:

Looks like a contender to me.Edited to add: what barge 1-5 would win the barge 1-5 track a) lap time record b) 24 hour race?
The barge should qualify for this thread and provide a relaxed drive to and from the circuit.

For anyone who wants a luxury barge:
The Lexus RX300
I sold mine for just £880 today.
It needed a new cambelt, 4 tyres, MOT and Tax but £880! Look at what you'd get for £5000.
I've never much liked the RX300, but £880 is hard to ignore! What was the age/spec? Any problems in the way of a new MOT?The Lexus RX300

Part service history
125,000 miles
No tax/mot
Perished tyres x4
Needs cambelt
Other than that it was fine.
It didn't need anything other than those to pass the MOT
Any appetite for a manual barge? In its favour, it has velour and right angles. Lots of right angles.

On a happy Sunday morning barge trawl of Autotrader I've noticed that perfectly nice looking LS430s are going for less than significantly older and higher mileage LS400s, are they really that much more bork-y/unloved or is it just that the reputation/rarity of the LS400 is distorting the market?
I guess it's a long-winded way of saying that the LS430 looks rather unloved and absolutely blinding value at the moment.
Thoughts?
I think LS430's are still on the way down, whereas LS400's bottomed out years ago: there are far fewer out there these days. Due to being effectively worthless, more and more healthy cars are getting broken for parts. I keep an beady (beardy?) eye on the market and reckon demand (and prices) are on the verge of a rise. Certainly noticed a few more converts to the virtues of the older car around these parts recently. No surprise in my book: '400's are less complex, more robust, better looking and nicer to drive IMO than it's replacement, which, common to many a "new and improved" version, wasn't quite built to the same standards and can suffer bigger and more expensive problems, despite a better level of perceived quality and the addition of more gadgets. Plus, they really are fking gopping.

That old seller's classic!I let it go for £880 because the insurance company had paid out £2.5k+ for silly little chrome trims that were extinct (this was the suggested valuation of parts by Lexus themselves ) so I actually got £3.3k back for this car thanks to two dumbfk drivers
I rather like this 280CE, sub £5k on carandclassic, but better photos on the seller's site. A lack of history but these 280s are usually a lot more. Are they pleasant enough to drive? http://m.brendanconlanautomobiles.net/viewanad.php...
Just a 520, but with a manual gearbox to make it go bit better, 95k miles and air conditioning. Claims of no rust. £1,800 sounds very reasonable. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...
