Have we had this one yet? "No warning lights....ABC suspension working perfect...runs great.". A bit leggy so perhaps over priced at slightly over budget? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MERCEDES-S600-BITURBO-50...

I saw it on ebay earlier. Look at the last photo - if that's this car, I think it was previously advertised with photos matching that one at £4995

Yep, I've just found the old ad:

I'm not sure W220s make sense at that money - you'd have to really, really want one when you can have something like this for not a lot more

I think they have to be kept immaculate, otherwise they look a little private hire or cheap try hard. Kept well, however, they are very fine indeed and really are stonking value. This one always impressed me:

Something like that went by when I was filling the Jaaaaag earlier this evening.

Not being a Benz aficionado I can't say exactly what it was but it had 4 exhausts and made a noise like a puppy in a wheelybin full of polystyrene wotsits.

I don't think his aim was to be giggled at as he drove down the road.

Might need some suspension work.

I'm 50-50 to be honest - a nice W220 still looks great, and sounds to me like a much less ruinous proposition than a cheap w221.

I know, but a 388BHP V8 S500 is hardly going to be slow and unrefined. I just don't think the 600 engine in a W220 makes up for all the downsides compared to a W221. I'm obviously getting old before my time tongue out

The v12 bitubo is the ENTIRE appeal of the W220 or W221 for me!

I think at some point I'll have to have a W220 S600. I like the styling a lot more than the S-Classes that followed and I've got to have that engine, at least for a a little while.

Same here.

I like the wheels on the car linked to. I note they need a refurb, wonder how easy that would be.

Only cheap because pre-facelift.

W140 S600 in budget at the moment on ebay. The ad and photos are not exactly fantastic... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252772508306?ul_noapp=tr...

Nice late car but the owner does not know much (telescopic reversing markers on a facelift car, I don't think so) and the ad says it sort of has some service history. Worth a punt at £3 I guess

Yah. I'd sooner have the later shape with knocking on 400bhp in the real world.

Some curious gaps in the online MOT history - first used March 2006, first MOT December 2009 (33988 miles), then next MOT July 2011 (47242 miles). Too busy flitting between airport terminals?

Then it calms down and barely covers 11k in four years. Who uses a car in that way?

Seems to cheap for the miles too if you look at any others.

I can only assume it was SORN'd between owners and last owner didn't use it as much as the first?

Bet its still got the sticky circular residue in the windows from the PCO sticker hehe

I got an Uber recently and the driver had covers on the pedals, seats + steering wheel cover, and a couple of chamois elastic banded to the gearstick. All in the name of reducing wear and not for clocking purposes. No way.

Thinking of parting with my barge after 10 years of ownership and 35k miles (yes that's all...)

It's my 52 plate E39 540i sport auto individual now with 80k on the clock. Serviced annually even at less than 4k per year and also gearbox serviced last year. Nothing else has needed doing.

Is this a £3995 car or a £4995 car? Opinions welcome...
