Perhaps this should be in the Bargain Basement thread, but it's certainly a barge. Who fancies some horrid chrome arches?
Over 200k and £995! Feeling brave?

I'm not so sure it need be that scary. If it has a long MOT - no mention of it in the ad, so it's definitely an if - and if there are no dodgy warning lights either illuminated or de-bulbed, you can't go far wrong for Shed money. Obviously you'd need to regard it as a consumable and not spend much on it, but there are worse things to cruise around in for a year. I'd see getting it to moon miles as a legitimate challenge. Normally chrome arches are a warning sign to a discerning barge-ist, indeed to any person of taste, but I'd embrace the look and have a bead seat cover and a dodgy air freshener to complete the taxicab vibe.
This Alpina B10 looks good at £4850,

Yep, exactly that, it goes right between the cylinders, usually 3 and 4 IIRC.Very rare to get oil/water mixing, symptoms are usually a loss of power, feeling a bit rough, possibly some pinking/detonation. Compression test will confirm. They seem to go after about 80k miles.
There's a high mileage car on the Alpina Register which is on it's third (or possibly even fourth, can't remember!) gasket now.

£695, 1995 Jaguar XJ 3.2 Sport. 145k miles.
Bought as a project, being sold as an uncompleted project. No MOT:
"and would need about £350-400 to get it through, minor welding underneath and a few bulbs, a tyre and a back box."
Not sure the seller realises MOT history can be checked online. It needs a lot more than that.

Have we had this late W220, at top of price range but potential for a while before bills start arriving....

Tempting. Very local to me also.
Having said that, looking at the MOT fail in November it could have been bodged up for the December ticket and now being moved on!
