Just took a deposit on the E430, so it's hopefully sold.

Some great bargain merc s on eBay at present:

Very near me - would surely be worth two or three times the price as an estate?

That does look good. *awkward cough* What are you waiting for?
Is there any way of retrofitting ISOFIX to the W210? I think the W211 had it as standard.
Neither of my W211 had it. 53 plate and 55 plate.
I think it is only viable if there is a bespoke kit and there usually only is a bespoke kit if the car was available from the factory with it. I don't think the w210 ever did. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=137...

I don't think ISOFIX was available on the w210. And I also think Merc welds in the brackets rather than bolts them in.

A much easier and more attractive retrofit is the Integrated Child Seat option: you just need a replacement seat base. I fitted this to a friend's w210. He was sceptical when I told him about it but was a complete convert when we did it.

You could get the tabs for attachment welded in as well - they're fairly straight-forward fittings.

That is the finest E39 interior I have ever seen. It is quite simply sublime.

I'll be the first one to say I should have bought that.

I'm surprised it too so long but good news. It's been my favourite low-cost barge on this thread. We'll probably never see another.

Thanks. I'll miss it. First time I've eBayed a car as a fixed-price classified rather an a 99p-start no-reserve auction - I just couldn't face the thought of such a smart old thing possibly selling for under thread budget. I've made a whopping £100 profit too (offset by the half-tank of petrol I unaccountably left in it, in contravention of the first law of used-car sales).

Get it off quickly before it etches the paint.

Make sure you thank the buyer from me, he's saved me from myself and from repercussions from the wife.

I am rather taken by this. Over-priced but, as we so frequently remark, the initial price is almost irrelevant. The spec is almost perfect: Elegance, tan leather, air con, heated seats, memory seats. It is a shame it doesn't have seven seats but they are an easy retrofit.

I once owned a Maestro, and thereby came to learn of the related antics of a fellow known as "Stu_CDX".

Do NOT Google that name plus Maestro plus bonnet.

Doom Blue is a tough sell, but spume blue is a winner.

Maybe of interest to some in the current (geddit) climate, I bought this 'intelligent' charger from Costco for £35 inc - looks remarkably similar to the higher power ctek, even the instructions looks similar.

Available on amazon for a bit more :

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Automotive-Intelligent-Ba...
So the Ring version is made by same people who made the Ctek one? Costo has a website, none local to me?

P
Can't state that for certain but dimensions look similar and instruction layout and device function look similar.

If you're local to me in North London I can pick one up for you to collect from me, no issues with that
Not sure if it's provenance, but I ordered one of these a few months back...

https://www.amazon.co.uk/AA-Battery-Charger-Mainta...

- again, very similar layout and features as the Ctek jobby, also the instructions are clear (so important to senior gentlemen).

Yep me too: three doom blue barges on the drive and I'd end up posting on the divorce thread.

Agree with all you say but I couldn't part with nigh-on £5,000 for an S210, unless it was a really good E55

Sometimes I think it's because the 3rd and 4th order harmonics of the engine have all dissolved into the road vibration, everything seems smoother and more settled. That, and you're usually right into the cam profile which makes the performance feel much more effortless.
What a delightful couple of sentences; worth quoting.

I won't pretend that I understand it, but it feels very thread.

As the saying seems to go, plus one.

If that was petrol-engined, in those colours, I'd be very tempted.

I just can't see the 210 like I do the w124 or even the 211 and later mercs. A personal view of course, but I see ugly, poor build, and inevitable rust under the shine. Sorry. For that money I'd want a w124 for the "classic", or a newer e class for a dull competent car.

Is this why the drone at 60 in my 190 2.6 irritates me, but I love bopping along at 100-120 in it? Officer.
