Absolutely perfect providing your legs only go down as far as your knees.

E34 Touring doesn't appear on MOT checker, which is probably just as well as I have The Twitch.

No, I was wrong - it does.

I just defaulted to my automatic, unconscious habit of typing "M...E...R...C..." into make nerd

I love that, just a bit surprised it's not got alloys with that spec as my mum had a "from new" K reg 520i touring with cross spoke alloys and CD changer but no AC etc etc. If I'm being harsh, that estate looks like a total shed with all those scuffs and scrapes. Not enough to persuade me to have a stroll down nostalgia avenue.

How did the E34 manage to fail an MOT in 2013 with a worn out o/s rear tyre, pass two days later then fail on the same tyre the next year with less than 1000 extra miles indicated? Enquiring minds want to know and all that.

As such, how's this LS400? I like the colours (green leather, natch), and do those wheels signify DHP? Needs a good haggle, but a nice-looking thing anyway. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...

I really want to like these, but for 3 grand that needs to look a lot smarter than it does.

Lovely red velour interior in this stretched and purpley W124 but the rust makes Baby Jesus cry.

61k miles. Wouldn't you prefer something that was used and looked after?

Well, it's been used and it certainly looks as though it's been looked after!

Funny how a decent E36 commands a higher price than an E46 these days. Perhaps they've finally reached the bottom of their value curve (says the hopeful E36 coupe owner...)

The colour of the e46 will help hide the rust better than most too.
