E34 525 manual estate for £1,850. Proper. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-e34-525i-Touring-Man...

Apart from the wrong gearbox, I like that

Agreed, i've had lots of E34s over the years, 520i (24v), 525i (12v), 525i (24v), 535i and M5 3.8. Other than the M5 they have all been best in auto guise.

Lovely red velour interior in this stretched and purpley W124 but the rust makes Baby Jesus cry.

That looks spiffing (if you like mini-barges). Is it sporting the uprated speaker system too?

Aside from the mandatory dealer hyperbole (all the extras, but no sunroof or folding mirrors or heated seats or headlight washers etc etc) it does have a lot going for it.

Why is the older shape 325TDS so expensive upthread? Rarity?

Absolutely perfect providing your legs only go down as far as your knees.
I think the seats are pushed back quite a bit if I'm honest. But they are not roomy, I could fit behind my own seating position...just...I'm 1.75m.. Big'ish on the outside, snug inside.

Shot in 2009 I think. 3.0 Super

I think the not having a V6 is enough to resist the temptation for me!

Just noticed that. Surrounded by plastic covers to hide the fresh air where a V6 would sit. frown

The twinspark is still a fab engine, even if it's not as good as a Busso.

MOT history is very clean. Weirdly though its registered as a diesel, what would have caused that error?

Someone ticking the wrong box on a form?

I had a Corsa that was registered as an automatic. It was definitely a manual though

Mistake by the dealer on registration... Happens more often than you'd think!

This Mk.4 looks good, DHP although pricey at 3.5k: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2017...

How about a red/purple Mk.4 as well? 2k

That's a shame I was going to call tomorrow morning. It looks like decent LS400's are not hanging around, was it only posted today?

Easily resisted chez deG.

To me, they have always been pretty but unappealing and generally under-whelming.

Why anyone would take that over bob-lads purple throbber I can't imagine.

That did look good, even though I'm not sure silver is its most flattering colour. I'm definitely having one of these before too long.

Agreed on the colour scheme. The DHP one above was 5k two weeks ago, then 4250 earlier this week. Could be more room for manoeuvre?
