I'm reluctant to post an auction, this might end at more than thread budget but it's probably the most desirable Jaguar X300 variant going
Following one very lovely looking Daimler Double Six, another. At time of posting, a sniff over budget, but of a completely different generation
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Daimler-Double-Six-Auto-...

Gonna need money spent, but will reward it I think.
"Double Six", what a name.

I remember these as a kid and every time I spotted a Jag XJ I would be checking the badges on the boot for whether it was the usual 4.2, the 3.4 or the full house 5.3, 3.4's and 5.3's were rare, the 3.4 was not worthy of my attention but a 5.3 was a good spot, a lady ont he end of our road had a flat brown one, late seventies vintage so as a kid it was still pretty new, strange colour to choose as it made it look a bit dowdy, my grandad had a brown Princess but it was a metallic with red flecks in and was actually pretty nice, would of suited the Jag, anyway, I digress, it died when she had a Gin induced brake/accelerator/in gear or not moment when leaving the off license which was next to the Spar, which is where it came to rest, fully in the shop.

Isn't this the one that was outside Maison du Palmier only a couple of weeks ago? (Well, I know it was!):

And how much did that auction end at?
Well spotted.
It was better photographed at the Palm House. But all that service history makes me wish...

ridiculously over-priced though, no? It may be immaculate but it's a very early model with pre-facelift interior. Service history may be good but no mention of other bits done (eg fuel tank, potentially the gearbox, suspension components etc).

It's really difficult being a car dealer innit. Win eBay auction, apply spit, polish and 50% mark up. Profit. Rinse. Repeat.

Nice wheels on this 540 Touring, but I wonder how many frogs were needed to make that interior?

Also at this mileage I'd like to find out if the gearbox has had any work.
I like that a lot. Really nice

I think you might even be being a bit generous in this instance, Sir? It looked cleaner before the drive from London to Nottingham.

Indeed, you won't get much cleaner than a Palm Tree Motor!

Likely to be a very tough, uphill battle to sell that at anywhere near that price when you're asking Hexagon type money but you're only offering 0.5L extra engine capacity in the face of with more than double the mileage:

Monsieur Le Palmier did very well to get what he got for it and given his presentation probably deserved it.

He had that up for sale last year IIRC. Zack Noor is the wheel refurbishing guy.

Where will it end up? Not more then £2,900 I suggest:

Take your pick. I think the cheaper petrol is probably the better car. But the leather in the disease is delicious (steering wheel excepted).

Good news on the purchase. Hopefully it won't be too much to fix....though you must question why it hasn't been done if it wasn't too expensive? I had an airbag warning light come on on my E65, turned out to be faulty wiring loom or something....cost just under £200 to fix including labour.

Cornershop....silver is your favourite colour? Exciting hehe
