This isn't really a barge, and isn't really the 'best of' anything, but the seller has been stalking me ever since I first asked for more detail after posting (here) one of those one-picture/one-sentence rubbish ads that feature from time to time.

I want an SLC, and I want it to have velour, but I don't think I want this. If someone fancied sorting it all out and then selling to me at a loss I'm all ears, otherwise I offer it for your delectation.

I'm no softie, but some of the pictures (look at them all, I dare you) terrify me. Anyone fancy a challenge?

I think 2.5k in the white 4 pot ce is a better bet

It's possibly the most honestly photographed frilly car I think I've ever seen.

Optimistically priced, I think is the phrase.

What's a good one worth? As a project I love pictures like that, not really selling it as a road-going proposition. biggrin

Owned both. The 230E was smooth and effortless, but never fast; rev it and the 4 cylinders became obvious, coarse and no better progress made, so it's nest just to waft. The 300 felt pretty flat below about 3500rpm and then it would start to move, sounding delicious, but drinking all the fuel and feeling rather at odds with the car.

Never tried a 24.

Got a fresh ticket on the E39 today.

Which usually means I think about selling. I do fancy something a little less sensible.
How about a nice blue E31? I need to move mine along quite soon.
I'd love to, but I figure E31s are a little out of my budget at the moment. let us know when you have an ad up though.
No....No ....No! Woody, you've got this wrong. It is now that an E31 is IN your budget....soon they won't be!

Another one sold in under 24hrs. A white Celsior on air suspension posted on Ebay on Sunday went the same night too. A trend?

Maybe Derin should have left the Z4 in the showroom and invested in twenty LS's instead biggrin
It's arriving next Thursday...My birthday! laugh

On account of that and a few cosmetic issues I'll probably be asking top thread budget (which would make it one of the cheapest around, and it's far from one of the worst).
When you have an ad, do let us know where it might be found, won't you?

It is a shame it isn't in slightly better condition - the colour combination is frankly, glorious. In good condition it would be a superb looking thing. I prefer the velour in Mercedes of this era to the leather.

I quite like that, if it were £2k I would have a sniff...but £3.5k??? the sideways photos make me dizzy too.
This however re-assures me that the car is fine;
"NO MAJOR PROBLEMS OR NOISES"
get stuck in then!
Spanish Registered, in Manchester with an MOT'til May?? Some sort of Andalucian Horse Cart worthiness ticket or what???

True.

Story of my life. So many cars I want that no-one else does yet.

£5k is probably our of reach at the moment, but I'm working hard to change that!

Ad could simply read "Bag o' ste" and I'd still sit here drooling. Although I'd have to rip off that spoiler and beat the current owner round the head with it.
