Phwoar, really like that E39. Definitely one for the bad plate thread.

That e39 looks a great buy, MOT history is decent too.

Could be a great old thing to thrash around. Cheap flight over, cheap ferry back (if you don't mind 12 hours, the fast cat costs a fortune) - great weekend.

I spent my growing up there and just to dispel the Jersey 'salty air' myth you often hear - in terms of bodywork they use virtually no salt on the roads, and its generally a warmer environment. The police are strict and the limit is 40 so people tend to drive fairly sedately. This could be a decent bargain.

A certain risk is that it will never have had an MOT as one doesn't yet exist there!

It might not be rotten, but unspecified electrical issues would put me off without fail!

I am knocking around in this borrowed plume. It is an E220 cabriolet with 94,000miles. Anyone who says the 4-cylinder M111 engine is unrefined hasn't driven one. While it does not like to be thrashed like a good six, it is remarkably quiet, smooth and strong; the front of the car feels very light, too.

These start well within thread budget and I would commend one to anyone seeking a four-seat drop-top cruiser.

Very nice. I like the black/grey exterior and black leather interior.

I do like a 6 cylinder engine. I took out a chap who works for me in my w124 and he was interred by the noise - he didn't think he had been in a car with more than 4 cylinders before!

A Bavarian alternative to the lovely Merc above: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/b...

Nowhere near as classy, but seems a good price for a 330.

I'll work out how to post pictures one of these days.

I rather like the look of this. Thoughts? Funky interior and some work done. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2017...
