Mk2. A very pretty car.
I'm not sure it's pretty in my eyes but it looks more purposeful and like a WRC car, which makes it cooler in my eyes. The MKIII RS will be a quicker car but I've never been keen on the current shape of the Focus and even in RS guise, it just doesn't work for me.
I do love the mk2 Focus, it is what it is and it the antithesis of the mk1 which went before (which I also love) I just can't warm to the mk3 for some reason.

Mk3.
If you want a mk2 save 10 grand and get an st and spend 1-2k on mods to achieve similar performance
I previouslythought the same. If you want a mk2 save 10 grand and get an st and spend 1-2k on mods to achieve similar performance
I have a couple of MK2 Focus RS models in stock in my used car business and having actually driven them they are a world apart.
We have a mountune MP350 in stock and it is a very impressive car and I really am far from a ford fan boy.
The ST will lose money especially when modded. A MK2 RS will still hold its money, I think there is another 6 to 12 months before they drop in value, and even then it won't be significant.

I'm not in the market for either but not everyone has or wants to spend £18-22k on an RS. 75% of the car for 50% of the money, plus avoiding some of the hassles doesn't sound too terrible.
Agree we sell a lot of Focus ST's and Astra VXR's to which are around half the price or less as you say- Only recently have I actually got behind the wheel of an RS and given it a good drive on a good stretch of road and it was far better than I had ever expected it to be. I was very surpised.JimmyConwayNW said:

Also I think it'll be hard pressed to lose anymore that 10k over 3yrs ownership which for all it can do is very respectable
