I was going to post a pic of a 2 door E30 BMW which has been sitting unmoved and covered in dust in a driveway in our village for years. To my astonishment, I walked past the other day and there it was, bonnet up and engine running with the owner working on it!
There is always hope...
My dad saved a a P38 range rover that hadn’t been started or moved in 8 years and regularly ran for 10. Started with a bit of tinkering and went through the MOT no advisories lol! There is always hope...

A friend of mine used to have a Xantia for a while, I remember one winter day when we both went out to have fun with our cars in a snowy car park... Well I had fun anyway, he was slightly frustrated! (for those not in the know, the handbrake applies to the front wheels)
I'd forgotten about that. I had a work colleague who had one "agri spec". He used to lament the lack of handbrake turns.V 02 said:

Having done so, he gave it a wash and a good air with the doors and roof down, MOT’d it, then left it on the drive to continue festering once more.

Whilst looking at your linked map I accidentally clicked on the little street view map and ended up a street away looking at https://www.google.com/maps/@50.9131685,-1.4233917...2012 image but still fairly old then.
I walk past this often and wonder what’s in the garage if this is outside.

I Know I’m not too far from home when passing this

Always interesting stuff here but never had the courage to call in and ask if anything is for sale . I’m sure some are customers cars in for work but some of the Jags right at the the back and the P38 haven’t moved in a while

I looked up the silver X351 in the 2022 image when it first appeared in 2022, and it had 230k on the clock. Disappeared by early 2023. Can’t remember the reg to see if it was still alive or not.

The focus has been there a while and the old Fordson tractors look a little worse for wear.
Plenty of cars here. Presumably parts cars or stuff that couldn’t be repaired.

This place is interesting. Loads of old buses and coaches behind the fence, plus spilling out onto the old forecourt. The state of the coaches here is much worse now than the Google images. There a few coaches out on the front with broken bits, windows etc. There was also a Saab 93, Rover 75 and Hyundai coupe on the forecourt. My brain got so used to them being there, so I can’t be sure if they actually are still there now. The Hyundai and Rover are in the 2021 street view along with something else that looks Japanese?

Hi all. I take a lot of pictures of rotting cars (and cars in general). I’ll just pop one up for now (oh wait I can’t seem to to, maybe coz I’m new?). But feel free to browse through my instagram to bring anything of interest to you to this thread.
Also when I took a trip to Belgium I visited a Volvo dealership stuck in time. As I’m new, I can’t post the link. But I posted it on my insta on 30/10/23.

There's a load more photos of the last one, the abandoned Storm Petroleum filling station, here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/131286969@N05/517471...https://maps.app.goo.gl/oVP2HxGur33WFtoY6?g_st=ic

The price board is another mystery, given that general sale of four-star ceased at the end of the nineties and petrol prices generally didn't reach the 98p mark until a decade or so later. Some places were allowed to continue selling the hard stuff for classic cars; it's possible that Storm Petroleum were one such merchant, however they'd have had the cheapest leaded in the country if the historic discussions on here are to be believed. Selling four-star at parity with unleaded must have been unheard of, given that someone on here reported leaded being sold at £1.20 a litre back in 2007. It's also possible that the garage never bothered to change their sign and that the '4 Star' was, in fact, something else - diesel, say.

This is a brilliant collection if this is your bag, over 14k photos - takes a while to get through them all.
