In the week I stay in bexley, in the hotel car park is a knackered Ford van, a Ka, A 1986 Mercedes W124 auto, and a solid looking Pug 306 cabriolet that looks worth saving. The hotel staff are trying to get them removed, they think that a local trader or traders are using them as an overspill car park.

These been here at least since my parents moved in across the road 6 years ago:

They've been there much longer than that.

The fact the RR is so close to the road has always seemed high risk for either outright nickage or part stripping.

Enthusiasts who think they might one day get that heap back on the road = just sell it while you can, stop devaluing the neighbourhood.
From what I read about a minority of them, they have no intention of ever moving the car again and their attitude seems to be "ner-ner, I've got it and you haven't!"
Possibly a little bit negative, chaps. Real life intervenes in all sorts of ways when you aren't expecting it.

This spent seven years on my driveway.

But, eventually...

Another one from near me, the Range Rover has been there for at least 18 years, the VW probably half as long.

These are worth strong money I think to VW-scene types. The Ur-SUV?

This is typical of what amazes me about this thread and the other one. I know that the common denominator seems to be roughish houses in roughish areas but who would want to look at a festering piece of junk taking up their limited off road parking day in, day out for years?

You'd be seriously p*ssed off if those two rotting sheds were opposite you, even if you did live in a down at heel area. I've lived in some tough bits of town but not had to put up with rotting cars on the driveway opposite going nowhere.

So,
Happy New Year fellow abandoned car spotters..

I drove past the green pub Merc again today and it is still looking as tragic as ever, desperately needs a new home or a visit to the cars in the sky.. currently a garden ornament

Hi wavey.

My new years resolution is to pluck up the courage to knock on doors and ask for a closer look if I spot anything. Got a few in mind to start me off including a V12 S600 Mercedes on French number plates. It is sat at the back of a driveway on flat tyres.
