You may find this stupid but I will say it, you never know in this weather what's going to happen, either a breakdown, & the demon Snow, a bit of advice if I may, No, I'm not a HALO Preacher, take a couple of flasks of a hot drink with you and a blanket & make sure your phone is charged, I've helped many a person broken down Shivering /Freezing not thinking the worst could happen, believe me it does & in the wrong place.

None whatsoever. My overwhelming experience after 40 years is that I just seem to pass them by.
On a long trip I'll do 250 miles which is easy to do, take a break then do it again. Otherwise I'll stop every 4 hours.
We don't get bad winters here, though if snow is forecast I might think about coats and shovels etc. But that's rare.

Winter wheels+tyres on, usual fluid checks and stuff. Box of stuff in the boot (mylar blankets, ice gear and whatnot).Dodsy said:

Im only saying what Ive seen, no reason to make it up, I was very surprised too as I'd assume they were being monitored and would be in trouble but two occasions recently UK plated trucks came past me when I was doing 70 downhill. Im curious now how this could work out for the driver, is it possible they were foreign drivers who wouldnt be hanging around for long enough to have to worry about the tachos. ?
ETA I have no axe to grind with HGV drivers never had any problems

No. They're organised and as long as everyone sticks to the rules they work. If someone breaks the rules then that's why you're paying full attention. Do HGVs on Motorways cause you concerns? Why?

No. You give them space and appreciate they aren't as agile as a hatchback.
Not sure. Only been driving a month or two and most I've done is 60 miles. Probably in the region of 200/300 depending on how thirsty the car is.
All weather tyres, long high vis coat in the boot, oil, water, coolant etc. Nothing too out of the ordinary or what I wouldn't carry anyway.
Motorway driving in general I find relaxing depending on weather and density of traffic.I have always gone well prepared in winter.Myself cloting wise and the car serviced up to date.If I was driving regular on the motorway I would change to winter tyres in October and off again in March.
On of the scariest drive I had was on my way to Antwerp.Torrential rain on a two lane motorway.Lorries on the inside lane nose to tail.Spraying road surface rain covering my windscreen on the outside lane.
I don't like to get stuck between lorries you just don't know the person behind you if they stop or not when needed.I have driven thousand of miles in the U.K and the Continent you just have to adapt.

Forgot to add to this, the car I drive BMW E46 Rear wheel drive are noted for skidding, the car I had previously E36 rear wheel drive, the car never give my any trouble in the snow we had here last year, I just ease off, use the Traction Control & ease off the Pedal easy answer, what about you?
Can't say I'm overly worried about motorways OP, although it's important to be aware of the potential dangers and exercise the right levels of caution.
I suppose in terms of HGVs we've all seen the clips of cars not being seen and them spinning them etc. but I assume this is relatively rare.

I have noticed on the last few journeys I have done early in the mornings that more trucks seem to be drifting into my lane on the duel carriage way. I then have to slow down to their speed, flash and beep to wake them up from sending their text message so they can drive back in their lane. This happens quite frequently these days. Quite worried that sometime I won't have a chance to react and will be fully sideswiped!

Depends how fast I'm going, and when I last had a drink as maximum driving time is usually bladder limited.
Used the car.
