Just watching BBC news about bird flu. Geez they were desperate to find some doom and gloom in it - but the farmer they interviewed gave them nothing hehe

The interview started off by stating it would be a big problem for him to get 40,000 chickens back in doors.

His response 'not really - they come in overnight anyway and we just wont open the doors this morning'

They fished as to whether it'll have an impct on egg production.

His response - 'I dont think so as long as we keep them stimulated'

They then fished for it's impact on supermarket prices.

His response - 'I dont think it'll make any difference'

Really?

Radio 4 saying it wasn't anything major to worry about.

Sounds like the interviewer did his job - allowed you to find out there wasn't much to worry about by asking questions of somebody better informed.

Which is nice.

It was more the way the questions were asked - almost as if they were trying to lead the interviwee

They were worded like - "but there will be an impact on egg production wont there?"

Rather than a neutral:

"Do you anticipate an impact on egg production"

Yep - BBC can do nothing right.

Even their "style" of question is rubbish.

I was listening to Radio 4 on the way to work

Some Scottish lass on a new act of union required - she was irritating

Followed by a single mother of two from Liverpool who works 30 hours a week in a charity shop plus benefits has an income of £1600 a month and outgoings of £1700

Got to work and my piss was simmering nicely!!!

You obviously didn't spot the sarcastic tone.

Sarcasm or not, how questions are asked is not irrelevant.
