I've used the sucker mount via the tank on my H2. as well as the flat mounts on a flat surface. Depends what you want to video. facing front back sides etc....

I would suggest the tether just in case it wants to fall off

I have a dark screen on my K8 so I used a sticky mount on the side of the nose in the end. Not ideal but it shows no signs of failing.

If its for the track (sorry if its not) you aren't allowed it on the tank.

I am just a bit worried about sticking it on the tank incase it falls off. Does anyone have one on a mount at the headstock?

I've tried stick on mounts - trouble is, the glue is super-sticky & only one time use. I made a DIY bracket to bolt onto handle bars: it was rock solid, but the vibes made the picture almost unwatchable. The suction mount is by far the best solution. Tested apparently to 200mph. However, you need a smooth, flat, ideally glossy surface, & don't forget a bit of safety string in case it makes a bid for freedom...

I use either the late-model GoPro suction mount which sticks like sh!+ to a politician or the telescopic mast I made which clamps to the ST13's topbox rack and gives the viewpoint of a tall pillion.
Always a good idea to use a tether too.

The stick on mounts aren't going anywhere, I have around 4-5 on my track fairings (nose, seat unit top and underside, both side panels) never lost one yet even at 170+ mph.

Plenty of choices for mounting but my recommendation would be to also use some kind of safety leash just in case. Ask me how I know?

Yes i have just go mine for the headstock, they are not cheap at £35 but it is well made and you could pick the bike up on the mount.

You would then need the ram arm and ball that connects to the Go pro (£2)

You're going to safety string your goat in the back garden?

Managed to get mine to work now, after finding some slightly better instructions on the internet. Stuck it on the side of my lid...not an elegant fitting but it'll do for testing purposes.

Generally can't do that on track either. Fine for road use of course assuming you have used a couple of self tappers.

See the word "stuck" for a clue. Why on earth would I be at a track?

Just saying, no need to jump down my throat. ;-)

The comment about self tappers was tongue in cheek, I'm guessing humour's not much on your radar though. smile

That was killed when I partially lobotomised myself because you made me worry the sticky stuff wouldn't work!!

'twas very late & involved alcohol.... getmecoat
Anyway, stick on mount to side of lid does work, but is not comfortable as it upsets the balance/weight distribution, especially when looking over one's shoulder. Also, if you have an off, what would be the effect to your head during camera/tarmac/lid impact?

I've noticed nothing of said effect balance/distribution...no effect to your head, it would just snap off.
