Hi all.

Does any of you kind people know what is the biggest width tyres the VXR can fit on the front and back?
I guess the width could depend on diameter also.

I don't want any scrubbing. The rear arches have been rolled so that'll help a little.
Spacers etc?

Thanks

Standard tyres 255''s back, 245's front with standard suspension. 255 will fit the front but it gets rather close to the struts.

With some arch rolling and soe different wheels and coilovers you can cram more under there you can fit 275 / 285's. But the offset needs to be spot on.

Ok thanks.

I can't just go and buy some 5x120 8.5J fronts and 10.0J rears and hope for the best then.

Does anyone know what range of offsets we can use?
I was thinking 19" as that is what the VXR currently has.
I'm happy with the front 245/255 or whatever size the are. It's the rears that I want to go fatter on?

I did read that going wider didn't make much difference in traction - but surely it must help a little bit?
Driving on a wet road - fine, it is what it is! It's the dry road use that I'm trying to improve.

VXR8 19's are a popular upgrade but will require tubbing. From what I've heard the 275/285 rear tyre makes a BIG different to grip.

MF have done several cars now, might be worth speaking to them about the options.

I have 255 35 tyres on 19" VXR alloys fitted to the front of a VXR Monaro on what look like OEM shocks. They rub like mad so I would stick with 245s on the front.

245 only on the front. I'm running aftermarket alloys with 275 on the back although with coilovers. Offset on the back is ET40 I think but not sure. I'm not totally convinced by them if I'm honest especially as I have a set of original LS1 VXR alloys available....

BTW no tabbing

standard is +48

All the info is in the FAQ sticky at the top smile

Ive got some 10J et50 and the will fit with an arch roll, coil overs but are still close to the inner arch, so might need a small 3mm spacer to clear that or mini tub
