It is a typical Lexus performance car...
You can see what they tried to do... But they never quite managed it...
Interior is nice, but the exterior is not quite pretty enough, and the speed is not quite fast enough.
Can you explain why 168mph isn't fast enough? You can see what they tried to do... But they never quite managed it...

If we are going down the line of "168mph is pointless as it can't be used on UK roads" then just extend the argument to all sports cars and it kills it dead.
If you look at it objectively, then it falls behind it's rivals in speed.
I saw this car in the flesh at Salon Prive and listened as the guy from Lexus explained what they were planning for the car. I thought it looked stunning and what he was describing as a driver's car was just what I was looking for in my new daily. Add to that Lexus's legendary reputation for build quality and reliability and I was sold. I placed a deposit for a Sport Plus with my local dealer. I have to say the first drive reports suggest that Lexus have delivered on what they promised and I am really happy I moved quickly and will get one of the first cars in Scotland.

I have to say I really like the look this, it'll be good to see it in the flesh.
It looks even better in the metal. The Autocar pic choice isn't very flattering for it. In the red, blue or white it looks stunning. Some of the interiors are two-tone too, which look much better than the tan pic a few posts above this.As for the weight - this is a GT car, not a sports car and so a very high spec interior and equipment take their toll.
But it's a very special place to sit in and sounds fantastic in V8 guise.

From the comments, it looks like this is a bit of a marmite car. You love it or hate it... I hate it. There's nothing visually there that works. The lines are too messy like a cheap Decepticon from a transformers movie. The wheels are rank, it's really heavy. The list goes on! Bleuuurgh!
I agree it's a marmite car, quite a few positive comments on here, more than I expected to be honest. I'm pro and con on the outside. The rear looks too fat again, like the GT-R, but it is distinctive, Toyota no longer conservative, this is no Auris. I love the interior, I think it is an interior that would you be more than happy in on the first day stroking the textures and pushing the buttons and checking the damping of moving interior parts as you would be happy 2 years later.
It is heavy, that's Lexus build for you and a big V8. Maybe it has some Landcruiser in it?
Considering this is big and heavy it still puzzles me why Toyota have not released the FT-1 as a Lexus to to fill out the lighter side also

Love it, cant afford one now but I'm looking forward to picking one up for 50p in 10 years time.
Good luck with that! The far uglier SC430 rarely drops below five grand, even for ratty high mileage Cat C cars. This new LC looks great. Nice to see Lexus taking the fight to Merc and Porsche.

I think it's a fabulous looking thing, especially compared to most of the designs coming out of Europe recently.
Seems a bit confused as to what it's trying to be though, with a relatively low-torque naturally aspirated V8 but a two tonne kerb weight. I'm not usually one to focus on numbers but 240bhp/tonne and 200lbft/tonne seems a bit... lame in this market. I also can't help but feel that the number of gears these things have is getting beyond silly.
I love this engine but can't help but feel that they still haven't really put it in a car that's worthy of it. Hopefully Lotus will be able to buy it and shove it in something a bit lighter.

It's a GT car - pure and simple. Luxurious inside, looks fab, effortlessly lopes across continents, sounds great.Seems a bit confused as to what it's trying to be though, with a relatively low-torque naturally aspirated V8 but a two tonne kerb weight.
