I'll go out on a limb here against the trend, and say I hate these things. They look like a Halford's "bitsa." I'm sure from a performance point of view they're incredibly quick, but I fear I'm stuck in the past with what must be rose-tinted glasses. I prefer the old rivalries of Subaru vs Mistubishi in the group A days, in cars that were less powerful, and had less aero, meaning the performance difference must be made up by the human element.
These things have me thinking they're more aeroplane than car.

The previous engines "officially" produced 400NM and that was a conservative figure.Having worked with the previous ones I would suggest these produce at least 450NM. From a 1.6
They do sound decent for 4 pot turbos, rev limit around 8750rpm helps that as does the turbo anti lag trickery.

Can you imagine driving that car along that road with that wet surface? That would be some white knuckle ride.
(although you could say the same for all rallying tbh).
It'd be like a normal sunday drive to be honest! Everything set up for that car on that road will make it quite easy to drive given the talent.(although you could say the same for all rallying tbh).

I wonder what they would charge for the 2016 WRC one, might be some good lease deals now the new shape is due
New From M-Sport they were in the region of £500k, but pre owned cars are going from anything between £160-200k. a lot of the R5 cars have been bought and upgraded to RRC or WRC spec.http://www.m-sport.co.uk/motorsport/rallying/m-spo...

M-Sport have such a massive customer base that cars are sold before the WRC/R5 drivers have even used one in competition. Elfyn Evans has piloted at least 2 R5 Cars that were being sent straight to customers once they had finished the rally he was on. That was the problem with Elfyn not having a car to run at Wales Rally. M-Sport didn't have any WRC Cars he could use.
