I'm really glad Citroen are going back to forging their own path rather than aping the rest of the market. They've cleverly referenced the rather smart Cactus here and I can see this being a sales hit.
So am I. If the new C3 is half as good as the earlier Picasso C3 it'll be a absolutely brilliant bit of kit. I wound some way over 800km cross country and up and down mountains on a rental one in a day in Euroland a while back and even 4 up + luggage it was quick enough, incredibly comfy and politely sipped diesel despite being driven like I'd just stolen it.

My partner has a current shape C3. I was dubious at first, but she bought it because she didn't want something trying to be 'sporty' or trendy. It's bright green. It's very softly sprung. It's loads more refined than a Fiesta, Mini or Polo. It has cruise, climate, squashy folding seats, a panoramic roof, and is great on the motorway. She's done 75000 miles at an unfaltering 46mpg, and I've had to put tyres and brakes on it (literally, it's me that has to fix her car so reliability matters to me).
Highly recommended and I don't think we would hesitate to buy a new one. I'm quite fond of it really.

Still.
Prettier.
Than.
A.
Captur.

God, I despise those cars. They look like over-fed Hamsters from the front, and it's all the worse in white, cream, beige, brown or black.

I like the look of it, though I'm disappointed that it appears to weigh the same as the larger Cactus.
We've owned 2CV, AX, BX 2 Berlingos and a C1, so maybe I'm biased........

and the offset 'cubby hole'(?) below the satnav is really upsetting my OCD, why couldn't they align it in the middle instead of off to the left?

Citroen always used to put the chevron badge on the left side of the front of the car, and I've always thought they've not been the same since they moved it to the middle. let's hope this is a sign of things to come smile

Hideous like most French mainstream cars nowadays.....sticking a rubber car mat on the side does not make a car chic!

I had a 2012 Fiesta Metal which was (and still is) a great looking hatch, the new Fiesta IMO is a big step back. Think this is the nicest looking small hatch now.

Pleased to see Citroen branch out and do more Citroen-y things.

Sorry grandpa, the world doesn't revolve around you! Why do you think Peugeot went from tr brilliant 205, to the ok 206, to the awful 207? Because the market changed.
Buy a DS5, but citroen sell none of those.

Dear God that's awful. I can't think of a less inspiring car than a modern Citroen. I can't get over the looks of it but know if I did I would suffer monumental depreciation and probably a ton of faults. How they still exist is beyond me.

God damn! It's about time Citroen got their mojo back. I'm glad they're not following the herd and doing what they do best. OK it's not very PH but I don't want a crashy ride in every car I drive. I would have got a Cactus as a DD except the seats were awful. Let's hope they can sort those out.

Before you condemn me as some lentil weaver, my current DD is an Alpina and my weekender is a Mustang. I just have a soft spot for proper Citroens.

I like it. I really like how they don't give a st about "sportiness".. The amount of time we all spend in crappy cheap little cars, rattling around, crashing into potholes and being made slightly deaf from road noise is silly - it'd be nice if we could just all admit that comfort is a good thing, and an enjoyable thing.

I hope Citroen find some success.

what the hell are you talking about ?
grandpa , and world revolving around me ?
have i upset your middle aged metrosexual self or secret boyfriend who owns one?
because i dont like the car , as it is very average design with a pugly out of proportion front this somehow offends you ?
your rhetorical question about the brillant 205 to the awful 207 ...why do i think ? well i think your wrong the buying market changed that much ..it was more to do with safety legislation adding weight and size ...the general concept in the 206 gti 180 was o.k ..just not the execution .
why the hell would i buy a ds5 ? and what point do you try to make with it ?
there are great cars from all eras and bad in between ...and then bored cynical stuff like this that offer nothing new ... these cars will look dated very fast

Fairly unappealing until you look at the competition.
Whereupon it becomes a graceful, elegant gem.

I'm beginning not to understand the pure ugliness of most new cars.
I'll have to consult my 12 year old who certainly perceives attractiveness in some cars where I can see none.

I like it, after a few years of most cars looking the same, this looks genuinely different, and has quirkiness about it.

I'm not going to read it because its a long article about a stroen but I can only assume its filled with the author trying desperately not to be negative about such a disgusting monstrosity making remarks about its practicality and comfort.

Clearly a marmite car again but I can honestly say that I've loved having a Cactus and nothing else in the lease world came close to the combination of size, price and spec.

It's also been rock solid! And those airbumps have saved us from any dinks in carparks when you come back to find a subsequent car parked an inch away from you.

As others have pointed out the prices start way under that of the rivals so if you are in the market for a small car without sporting pretensions this might well be a winner.

Different. Very different.
Oh, hang on, how do you see out of it....thick pillars....high bonnet line..... just like everything else.

I expect we'll see loads on the road soon, running over cyclists, puliing out in front of motorbikes... "sorry mate, didn't see you" Ah well.
