Skoda seem to have made a Subaru like error, remember the bug eyed Impreza? Hope that the facelift is introduced quickly

oh no! It's gone the same way as the Kia Sportage! a design 'evolution' that has completely ruined its looks. Its like the car version of Katie Price!

Still no 280/290 variant. For Shame.
New Leon will have 300 hp and awd. I used to hope they'd do a 280 variant of the VRS but now I don't really care anymore.

Interesting bit in the article that 17"s are standard now. I'm sure 18"s were standard before, with 19"s an option (standard on the 230).

I wonder if this is because:-
- The retuned springs (dampers?) aren't as effective as before?
- They're realised the pre-facelift actually rides pretty poorly for an everyday, non-hardcore hot-hatch.
- They're trying to make more money as they know most buyers will option-up from a 17" wheel and very few were from the 18" wheel...

I have to say I'm not a fan , I like the front of the MK3/current model , I also have no issue with the ride on 18's but didnt fancy the 19" wheels myself i think they are fugly, not sure I would want to lower it either although it would look better you can just put the nose over a raised kerb , if it was lowered you'd need to reverse in

I dyno'ed mine on a fairly hot day and my stock 2015 220ps model put down a healthy 242hp on a dyno dynamics dyno, I dont tend to get too het up about the small variances on power I really cant see 10hp being noticeable, those that are bothered will fit a tuning box or get it remapped to 280hp anyhow

Its a translation from the generic press release that i would guess covers the whole of europe - for uk, yes all cars have had 18 or 19 an standard, but other euro markets had 17s.

Ah, so once again limited amounts of actual journalism and lots of copy-and-paste, you think?

Well that is a bugger. I have enjoyed my Mk3 VRS so much that I was considering another when this lease is up but not with that face!

New Octavia anyone?

The pre facelift was / is by far the best looking Skoda there has been, to the point where I actually quite like them and I am generally not a fan of generic Germanic cars.

Hmmm. Might grow on me. I've still got mine for another 16 months on a lease so it might grow on me come replacement time. Although I am watching the Golf R lease prices as well.

Hilarious how this rating is better than the focus RS in every other thread. Probably nobody so anti it that they rate it a 0.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say that I actually prefer the look of this to the outgoing version. Quite a decent looking saloon.

If you'd told young me that 2016 press images of a Skoda would all be taken on a race track, I'd have laughed at you hehe

If you told a younger me I'd ever be excited about a Skoda I'd have laughed at you, but at 34 and with 2 kids I had my new Superb delivered yesterday and it's amazing - the times the are a changing!

It's a hatchback, or estate. No saloon.
