Our Daimler Double Six VDP was fine however, so perhaps not every XJ12 was unreliable?
Most memorable for me was the way the bonnet would rise up under full throttle, and the way the fuel gauge would move visibly towards empty while enjoying its pace, grace and space... biggrin

Just found this thread, and every day is a school day, I used to always see these kits for sale in old fast ford mags, never ever realised they were once a ford option, Wonder how many actually left ford like that, must be worth a few bob now.

Lovely, very much like the more modern Z8 on which the latter is no doubt a homage to. Reminds me that a friend had a Z8 Alpina. Needed a rear light unit changing, very hi-tech and rare parts - something like £7k yikes

Love the 'Airfix kit' style artwork in that Jag one.

Is that strange middle-of-a-field location shot for the Urraco supposed to invoke memories of Lambo's tractor-building past?

I dare say, old Ferruccio was a farmer at heart! I've got some colour shots from the same 'shoot', it's a very early one I think from '72 just at the start of Urraco production. The prototype was first shown in 1970 but there were so many problems going on behind the scenes that it took nearly two years to get the first batch built. They were hoping to sell at least 1000 a year but built less than 800 in total.
