E46 3 series BMWs seem to be pretty rare now. Saw a black one yesterday in amazing condition, like new, they will probably start appreciating now because they are getting rarer.

Not an old one but I've only seen one 66 plate Punto compared to the thousands of Corsas and Fiestas

Although the design has been out 10 years now so that might explain it

I was just thinking the other day how I've not seen many Mk3 Astras around for a while, where 10 years ago the classifieds were full of them. The thought was spurred after I saw a 306 XSi parked round the corner from my house and I remembered when the college car park was full of 306s, whereas they're a bit of a rare sight on the road these days.

Mk1 Mondeos have all but disappeared now too, and I've not seen many W201 Merc C-classes around for a while. The (pre-facelift) Vauxhall Frontera seems to be dying out too.
10 years ago, the newest mk3 Astras were only what, eight years old?

I actually do see a few around (I see a lot more '90s Vauxhalls than '90s Fords) but with mk3 Astras, I see more very early ones than later ones

My mum has a Focus and aunt has a K11 Micra. biggrin

Although I haven't seen any 106, 306 and 406s in a while. Nissan Primera and Almera seem to be vanishing too. Also haven't seen a Toyota Corolla in a while.

almost all gone now, not even many scrap yards have them now.....
I should have taken a picture at Christmas of the driveway down at my Gran's house.

4 cars all registered in year 2000, a E46 BMW Cabriolet, a Lexus IS200, VW Polo and a Citreon Xantia - dear god the Xantia looked so old compared to the others! Things like orange indicators, non colour coded rub strips and bumper inserts, grey plastic door handles and wing mirrors , relatively tiny 15inch alloys (versus the 17s on both other cars)
But still the Xantia will be the most comfortable of all of those......some things do not move on

Remember the Fiat Brava / Bravo , one day there was thousands of them and the next they were all gone, not surprising though, they were garbage!.

W140 S Class I don't see many of on the roads. The odd w220 being used as a taxi but not a great deal around. Surprising really when they offer such car for the money.

Haven't seen a Fiat Cinquecento for a while either.

I don't know, all but one of my cars have been pre 51, my current (admittedly cheap because I'm skint) box is on an X plate and theres loads of older cars around here (Gloucestershire)

It's cars like early puntos, Mk4 Fiestas, early Mondeos etc that seem to have vanished, I suppose the scrappage schemes and ease of financing newer cars now has killed them off.

I had an M reg punto that I got rid of under the scrappage scheme. fking terrible car that deserves extinction. You're right about the finance I replaced it with a Mazda 2 that cost £95/mth, worked out less than the cost of keeping the punto on the road.

I think there's about 80 % of all the ones sold still going. They just never sold many in the first place.

Objectively it's not actually bad looking, is it.? All a question of price with econoboxes.
