Work of Art. From what ive seen of the test mule driving about in videos, it looks good.

The orange car with the grey wrap on it looks awesome. It doesnt appear to have any carbon sills on it yet and it will be interesting to see if the rear wing tilts (675) and/or lifts like a P1 or 918. Pop up instrument cluster screen looks interesting, as does the airflow inside front bumper/doors/rear.

The competition obliterating "McLaren Doors" look so cool and different to the allready supercool Sports series doors.

Atm it looks clean and aero. I see hints of Koenigsegg in the front side bumpers and Pagani Huayra in the car too, this is a much better design than both of those though and definately a McLaren, but more Hypercar looking than the 12c/650 ever were.

I cant wait to see how this design evolves into a Spyder and then a more aggressive beast with upgraded front bumper/rear diffuser & huge wings. McLaren are leaving the competition behind atm, redefining what customers can and should expect from a supercar.

I mean seriously imo the Huracan looks like an R8 in drag, too much obvious black at the base of the tiny windsceen, the bonnets pulled up like socks to try and cover it. The rear "plastic bumper" looks too heavy and cheap. The R8 has an identity crisis, desperately wants to be a front engined Bentley, grandad seats and all and it has lipstick for a start button. The brick that is the 488 should have been the J50 and not ashamed of its turbos, it should have celebrated them. 911 Turbos just boring as dirty stagnant dishwater and its styling is awkward to say the least.

Ive got doors like those cars on my garden shed. And they are supposed to be "SUPERCARS" LOL Talk about out of date.

So yeah, thank you McLaren for being a complete evolutionary step forward, a breath of fresh air! Roll on Geneva!

thats the best thing about spending 200k+ on a new mclaren, no matter when you do it 4 weeks later what ever you bought has been replaced with a "better" model
Which is clearly different from Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Pagani etc etc
Or, in fact, anything.
Consumer goods, yachts, military hardware, planes, bicycles... it's the only way that demand can be stimulated in such a saturated market;
make people unhappy with their perfectly adequate whatever and suck them into buying whatever v1.01
But that's always happened with cars. Think of the American cars of the 50s and 60s. Every year a new body.

Sounds good. I am slightly surprised at the 18kg difference; I expected more so I assume there's additional equipment in the new car.
To take 18kgs out of something that is already considerably lighter than its rivals is quite hard. Knocking 18kgs out of a 2.5 tonne luxo-barge....less so.
And have you picked up 18Kg recently...

Shame they all look boring, apart from the LT.

I know looks are subjective but still...

At tad more exciting than a Saxo!

The carbon tubs are amazing bits of tech hat really give McLaren the edge over the competition as far as I'm concenred.

On the McLaren documentary they said that the carbon tub in the F1 took about 4000 man hours to complete. The new ones take about 8 hours.

The Mono Cells are made by Carbo Tech in Saltzberg, interesting article from when they first started here...

Thanks Bertie.

I remember they didn't show that much of the process on the documentary as its a very closely guarded process.

Looking at your photo I didn't seriously believe you were still campaigning a Saxo...
But if you were... oooh I can imagine the comments wink

Have they done away with the grinning oriental chap front end? I can't get past it so until they change it, I can't even bring myself to buy one.

No doubt every car based on the new tub will feature a 3.8L twin-turbo V8 engine. Effective, it may be, but no-one seems to praise its character.
Nope. New P14 or 720S has a new 4 litre twin turbo with 720 bhp and is significantly quicker than the LT. not much or anything will touch the car in the way of performance
bow this sir, I believe is correct. The thing is insane...
