I've always been obsessed with these. Even a humble base model would be a joy to own, but this is on another level entirely. The one thing that seems daft though, is the optional Titanium exhaust. If you're going to engineer a car this level, and price it accordingly, you'd expect the Ti exhaust to be standard!

It looks quite restrained compared to the thing they`ve nailed to the boot lid...

Always amazed by the forum responses to cars like these.Happens with Ferraris, Rolls royces, Lambos.
Tasteless, tycoons, footballers wives, rich people who can't drive etc etc. Suppose it's to be expected since Brexit.

I've personally never seen a chav driving a Bentley. A modified Corse, sure. Often a st looking Lupo....but never a Bentley.

I can only assume you live in a place where 'chav' is anyone who can 'only' afford a £170k Bentley. Lucky you.
Oh really????

You obviously struggle to understand the difference between "tasteless" and "chav"

Perhaps 500+hp wasn't enough for the London->Monaco motorway drive, and you need 710?
I think their problem is that the V8 is too good. The W12 needs to position itself substantially higher up the pecking order to justify itself, or they need to drop the W12.

Not necessarily. Surely a chav who becomes rich can sill be a chav ?

The Oxford English Dictionary defines "chav" as an informal British derogatory, meaning "a young lower-class person who displays brash and loutish behaviour and wears real or imitation designer clothes".[4

Sounds like most English footballers to me. Many of whom drive blinged up Bentleys.

No, the guy that owns it is most definitely chavvy. EXTREMELY.

I would have to disagree.

Continental GTs to me at least represent people with far more money than sense. You are paying a lot of money for a car that shares 90% of its components with an Audi A8/VW Phaeton.

As mentioned on various forums, VW will probably have another lawsuit on their hands as they are charging far more for the same parts in this car than those that are shared with various Audis/VWs http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/bentley/347567-...

Toyota were taken to court in the US for the same reason over Lexus parts that were Toyota parts but with a 200% mark up.

They are lovely looking things imo, but my money would be going elsewhere if I was lucky enough to be able to afford something in this price bracket.

God I love these, like has been said, even the standard one would do, I dont get the hate despite (or maybe because of) living in Cheshire, there is one on the end of our road, there is a small boutique dress shop and the lady who owns it has one, love to see it there, black one, looks great and is kept pristine.

Been in a Supersports model, didnt feel far off a 991 turbo from a standstill, that off the line performance is breathtaking, the way the weight, torque and 4wd come together to make it shoot off the line is mightily impressive, even if obviously a 991 Turbo will be quicker outright.

This is some piece of kit, so what if footballers buy them, they are the ones with the cash, love all the discerning paupers (like me) turning their nose up at them ! realistically, who, that doesn't have the means would turn one down if given one and rather walk as has been said, bet if they gave it a go that it would soon change.

I am glad this country is making stuff that is world famous and desired, for better or worse Bentley still exists and is churning out stuff that I am sure the Bentley boys of yore would approve of (710 bhp with 2" blowers ffs !) , no point it being another Bristol, that the cognoscenti fawn over despite never seeing them and them being a bit crap really in comparison, its like people who like obscure bands just to be different and lose interest when they have a hit.

I can appreciate the older stuff like Turbo R's and the higher end stuff they do is sublime but the Continental GT and Spur are both magnificent despite their parentage and being relatively common and light years ahead of the old stuff.

You can, if you are brave get a Continental GT for 20 grand or not much more, doesnt matter a footballer may be on the log book, as you have it now, enjoy !

Bingo. Godda love it when people stand in judgment of those with nice things. Resentment culture.

It's especially amusing when they accuse others of only having nice things because they're image conscious. 710hp is only just enough to pull the irony out of a swamp of money.

its not my "thing" but if your life consists of plenty of long motorway/autoroute journeys at high warp while shoveling the scum out of your way with blinding headlights surely there is no finer tool?

Thanks Bentley (VW) for allowing such hedonism to continue, in a strange way this is "poor" mans Bugatti?

Not forgetting the view PH affords these days regarding the size of the chips on each shoulder of well-balanced poor bloody infantry envyists.

As to Brexit and other recent political events from the Cameron majority to Trump as potus, what these show is widespread and growing rejection of left-liberal failure and about time too. Such matters have been pointed out in NP&E where Brexit discussions belong - not here, though with a mention already a reply pointing out reality surely isn't out of order.

Back on topic regarding the 710 bhp Bentley Contintental Supersports - awesome, just awesome.

I actually think it desperately needed a power upgrade. Far too many of the every day fast cars were getting within 100bhp of its power output which inherently takes away from its allure.

I'll have one please. All black, everything. Ti exhaust, naturally.
