I'm not a car designer and don't see the beauty people find in many Alfa Romeos etc but anyone with eyes can see that these latest CTRs really are a dogs dinner by way of design. Stuck on bits, bulges etc everywhere.

The EP3 and fn2 were striking when released without having to stick random mouldings everywhere. They manage to look restrained and classy compared to these most recent designs.

As I pointed out earlier, the rear arch extensions don't even fit properly and are gappy.

My cars are hardly beautiful and I didn't buy them to be so but they are totally innoffensive compared to these even though they are certainly not shrinking violets.

I actually think this latest gen Civic has the potential to be a great looking car but then they do that to it. It really needs toning down.

I can't help but feel that these cars are going to age badly.

Driven in one and not sure I'd part with 30k+ for the privilege.

I prefer the SE white ones with white wheels with red rim decals, red mirrors and red spoiler end plates as well as the different interior.
This sounds much better than the black edition, where is it?!
I'm personally not a fan. These were left drive only if I remember correctly.

Yep that's the one! These imo look fab, driven a few of these off the production line and yes I think they were all LHD. The next generation Type R is a fantastic looking car in the flesh, have driven a few of these off the production line too.

Find a half decent road, hit the +R button, and then tell me it is not fabulous fun.

(It did take me naybe a month or two to really get a feel for mine, coming from a torquier (Is that the word?) 6 cyl BMW Turbo.)

Same here - Although IMO the 140/240 are good looking cars. (I know the 1 series is almost universally slated for its looks in here, but sales figures tell a story and that is what matters to the OEMs)

The m140 and 240 are offered at huge discount, my mate got BMW £7,000 contribution off his new that's why there selling. Honda never offered any discounts or silly pcp deals on the fk2 and still don't onto this day. That's probably why you don't see many around, however they've sold all 2,500 uk apparently. The black editions are getting snapped up quickly now.

If so, looks like a cracking second hand buy, were these £30k odd new?

This, plus this http://www.tts-performance.co.uk/civic-fn2-supersp... would appeal to me far more than the current model, for less than half the price, with more power.

Mind, in the flesh I do actually quite admire the current model. There's a blue example around the corner which I often admire when out walking the dogs.
