Mate walk away. Get your money back and walk away. You don't want this car anymore. You don't want to deal with this company any more. You don't need the hassle, you don't need the anguish. F**k them.

Also, I'd add: I know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that.... but it's not nice. If any other after market company had slapped that body kit and spoiler on what's obviously a beautiful base car, they'd be properly hammered on PH. If it helps you properly visualise this car, photoshop a pair of Kahn alloys onto this photo to see properly how this really looks.

Except for the minor detail of the potential profit from flipping it.

I wonder though, is there profit in this car? it seems to me to be a fairly basic Vantage with some tacky bits stuck on, maybe he's dodged a bullet, a bit like me with a 12c back in 2011.

Whatever the situation given what we're reading it seems the OP is being treated very poorly

I don't think they cost £280k from Aston. So yes, quite a bit of profit (if they're actually selling). One for some reason is nearly half a million.

Yes, it will be with a well know independent by the weekend!

Maybe AM don't understand British humour?

On the plus side, the Court might rule that AM has to supply you with the car in the colour you originally ordered it in. They presumably won't stand for this "but we said we can't make any more" nonsense. Good luck with your action.

You were thinking about buying an Aston after watching some videos ?

Now you're going to take your money elsewhere after reading a thread on here ?

I've read some unconvincing posts on here over the years but your post is right up there with the biggest load of rubbish I've ever read on ph.

Yay. Breach 149 other people's contracts to avoid breaching one. Not terribly likely...

It's all a bit grubby really.

I doubt Victor Gauntlett would've acted in such a manner...

Crush the "wrong" colour one (it's not even registered yet) and build a new one! Or re-build the wrong one in the correct colour. Simple.

Art on the road, Aston Martin, a gentleman's car

Pity that the people running it these days are seemingly unable to qualify as gentlemen, oiks more like.

Bad publicity for Aston Martin (which could about to become worse)
Come on Dr Palmer sort this mistake out amicably and give the OP his dream back.

Yes, that's a very proportionate outcome...

The OP's already said they wouldn't accept a respray.

Re spraying is not a option for me. As i said earlier i want a totally original car as it was built and painted.
Meanwhile, we're back to where we were right at the start...

I think you need to step back a bit, and look at the various options from the different viewpoints.

Will they build the right car for you? No. Ain't going to happen. Stop even thinking about it.
What happens if you reject the car? Simple - they sell it to somebody else, and make a large profit.
What happens if you play hardball hoping for some compensation? Simple - they shrug and say no. You have to decide whether to walk away or not.

There is zero downside for them here. Their worst possible outcome is that you accept the car as it is.
That third option has been tested and, it seems, proved right. So we're into legal action to try to get back to accepting the car in the wrong colour, with or without a court or arbitrator involved in negotiating a compensation package instead of simple goodwill.

The OP's original reason not to simply flip it was that it would put them at the back of the queue for any future limited-production cars. That could have been resolved by a simple agreement not to penalise them in this specific circumstance. But now - even if, as doesn't seem very likely, the OP was going to want one, they're already at the back of that queue.

Thank you all very much for your great comments and support.

It is very disheartening that you work hard, earn your money, place your order in good faith and then because of their mistakes your are told that they no longer wish to sell the car to people like me!

According to the OP it was never about the opportunity of a profit, which I respect.

Just put a few st videos of yourself on YouTube and you'll have your car before you know it.

Shame that manufacturers dictate their customers these days.

Aston could've built one more car for the OP and sold the unwanted one in a charity auction.

Other owners residuals not affected.
OP get dream car.
A charity gets supported with huge windfall.
Aston have a huge PR victory.

Everyone's a winner.

Did they actually use the phrase 'people like you'?

Absolute buffoonery of so.

I think you need to be careful about what is posted here and how. No doubt their legal team have a copy of this thread and are busy with a highlighter looking for opportunities to misrepresent things to weaken your position.

There doesn't appear to be much integrity in the industry, even with the manufacturers who are championed as the upper echelons.

To work so hard for so long to have your dreams tainted is horrible. I guess the issue is that to Aston it's just numbers and for many of their customers it would just be a question of going and buying something else.

There's the double whammy, it's the people who put all their eggs in one basket, as that's all they have the means to do, who suffer the greatest impact of such issues.

Per above, there's no fking way this would happen if you were a public figure or someone like Shmee FFS.

I know a few people considering an Aston at present. I'll be making them aware of this situation. I doubt Aston care about that, which is kind of the point.
