Couldn't help but think Asaton's website to be a little ironic. scratchchin

So the dealer has got back to me and told me that i can buy the car now!

I'd like to thank all PHers who have taken the time to read and comment on this thread. It seem that the PH community is strong and they do have ability to make manufactures listen.

Thanks again.

Very glad this is happening. I must admit, I have always wanted an Aston at some point in my life, and this was colouring that thought process...

Common sense prevails.

Well, either that or their expensive lawyers told them the likely outcome/fallout.

Sorry; been following this from afar...

So, they are now letting you buy the car but do you 'get anything' for the huge error they made with the colour etc?

It sounds like they may have 'won', if not. They've panicked you into thinking you may not get the car at all, so you gratefully accept the wrong car.

Apologies if I have misunderstood but you now seem very happy to be allowed to buy a different car than the one your ordered, for the same money?

Surely they would see how this could look, too?

Sounds like the Negotiation 101 course they probably went on. Give something and gain agreement..then take it all away..till the buyer is begging just to get back to the original position.

My feeling is that someone like Dr Palmer lives to negotiate. With shareholders, employees etc etc. He is not a person to deal with members of the public. Probably never had to deal with the great unwashed.

Yes even you as a buyer of a relatively expensive car is someone very unimportant to a CEO of a car company. These guys are true goliaths in the business world. We are merel mortals..

Or he was badly advised initially, asked his team to look it again and came up with a compromise following advice by PR/corporate affairs and legal.

Good news and as before my best wishes to the OP and hope the final result is one that you are happy with, that's the most important matter in all this. Years to come it will be reduced to another funny story.

Enjoy your car. As far as the error goes you should at least get a refund of the value of the special paint finish you ordered, that is missing.
