So it looks like i'll be taking AM to court. They originally offered something. They did a u turn and then only offered part of the deal. They have now totally reneged on the offer made. See you in court!
Thats awful. Can you elaborate? How frustrating, when you think you are sorted and it turns out it's only the beginning.

My ghast is flabbered! Did they give you any reasoning behind their U turn?

OP sells the car, makes some money, but needs to join back of the queue for another "dream car". Aston Martin get away Scott free, op looses out.
This would only be an issue if the OP were to order another Aston. Given the screw-up and AM's subsequent u-turn I'm guessing that the OP would rather hammer his scrotum flat than deal with Aston again.
I'd be taking delivery, flipping it and moving on to something else....
Well, how disappointing and very unprofessional. Always said that everyone, including me, makes mistakes, the important thing and measure of the organisation, in this case, is how you deal with the issue.
Complete guess, what's the betting the u-turn is the result of an internal dispute between two parts of AM, your fault, no your fault, well we're not taking the hit, well neither are we. Either way, disgraceful.

Did we ever get to the bottom of whether the dealer placed the order wrongly or not?Deerfoot said:

That might work for you, some people would sell their soul if the price was rightI don't know the OP but from reading the thread to me this was a purchase of dreams not money.
That's where many of us in life differ.

I understand that. I also understand that the OP has now turned to legal action, it sounds like the dream has unfolded into a bit of a nightmare. I don't know the OP but from reading the thread to me this was a purchase of dreams not money.

I'm guessing the legal wrangling with AM will not be the stuff of dreams, hence moving on may well be the preferred option. How do you think the relationship between the OP and AM will be post their trip to court?
But of course we're all different.

Can't go into too much detail at the moment, but it seems AM think i am going to sell it so no longer wish to honour their promise. How frustrating, when you think you are sorted and it turns out it's only the beginning.
If i did (which i don't, not yet anyway), I don't see what the problem would be. Only a few days ago the good Dr. was tweeting what excellent investments AM are!

No. Apparently the the dealer did send the correct spec over, but the bit of tissue they sent it over on had a drink spilt on it. As they could only read satin on it they decided to choose for themselves. LOL.(not really)I was told 5 people should have realised the mistake but didn't.

Yes, its a very poor showing. To offer something and then go back is shocking.Complete guess, what's the betting the u-turn is the result of an internal dispute between two parts of AM, your fault, no your fault, well we're not taking the hit, well neither are we. Either way, disgraceful.

Surely it's a case of sign a legally binding document stating that you will not sell it within X months/years?!?
Stupid!!!!!
I hope it gets sorted but I doubt it...
I ordered a new car which turned up on the appointed day, which was exactly the right colour, but it was not the right car. I had ordered an estate, and it was the saloon version sitting on the back of the trailer. I felt sorry for the poor bloke who delivered it, because he had been going on about how nice the car was, to which I whole heartedly agreed, but then had to point out that it was not what I had ordered. the abject look on the poor blokes face was a picture I will never forget
