Nah...after owning it, driving and appreciating for 7 years I decided that I had too many other cars, too little space for them and ones that I (personally) appreciated more than the M3. "You can't keep'em all" ?....So the M3 had to go.

With that in mind, I'm sorry to disappoint but I know that my car ended up in the hands of a speculator in Italy...after it was bought by a speculator from me who didn't drive it...kept it for 3 months and then sold it for simple profit to Italy. Sorry.

Editing to add:

I'm going to add this, in response to that (unnecessarily) snide last comment:

I suppose ultimately, I should be grateful that I at least had the pleasure and experience of owning and driving that E30 M3 whilst it lasted for 7 years, during a time when it really was "a car apart"...and that I bought it for £8K.

That's something that 'commentator' will now have to spend an awful lot more for (for reasons that I've alluded to) to ever emulate or experience. In fact, it's not ever 'experiencable' ever again....because that time has gone i.e. the time when an E30 M3 could do things that other cars couldn't do has been superseded.

This is a website for people that love cars for all sorts of reasons. Should we have an issue with people trying to make money out if them? Well you yourself attempt to do so, and make a big point about it on your website! Is that speculation or investment? Ah but you drive and enjoy your cars too. Well each to their own. Frankly if someone is willing to pay more for something then good luck to them. Fortunately making a profit isn't illegal.

But selling an 80's classic car because it has in some way been superceded performancewise seems utterly spurious. It had been superceded 7 years ago when you bought it! Fine, you'd enjoyed it and wanted to move on. I for one have done that myself many times. Why not just say it? And no doubt you didn't begrudge the amount of money you sold it for. It would appear you made a nice turn. And it makes you sound very smart to say "I would only ever pay £8k to experience that car, never £80k" or whatever these now trade at. I'm just glad there are people willing to pay the higher price for what is a pretty iconic car. A huge generalisation I know, but people who pay that sort of money are likely to look after it. In saying that I'm certainly not suggesting others don't for clarity. So well done to you in having been canny in buying one so cheaply. Well done the Italian speculator, I wish I had his foresight. Well done to whoever now owns it. It's a car that deserves preserving.

I'm sure you will say my comment is snide again, this time its meant to!
