Fair point, 40mph at night's not an issue IMO, although being a truck complicates things - would hope once he gets past the lead car doing 27mph he slows a little

Yep.

Multiple driveways, couple of junctions, at night, AND in an artic. Stupid overtake is stupid.

Very satisfying to watch, I just wanted him to do it a second time.

I'm the driver in that video, and i still don't know what the jag was thinking. The best i've been able to come up with is he thinks that the slip road to the dual carriageway, but it's not even close.

When i caught up to him at some traffic lights down the road i was getting ready to absolutely lay into him but saw it was just a confused old man and I couldn't do it.

I've submitted the video to the police though, he doesn't deserve his licence.

We can't retest them so we keep them.

He probably was ill and confused, a number of illnesses the elderly get can effect their driving making them do very daft things.

In somerset we had a guy doing 70 the wrong way up the motorway for miles. He was 83!!

I thought they had to re-apply for their driving licence over 70 years old subject to medical check ups?

Yeh not that often at 70-80 yr health can deteriorate fast and many drive when they know their impaired. Others are so ill they can't tell right from wrong or left from right.

Yes you do reapply, but no medical, new licence valid for 2 years. Think its only a medical if you have to tick some boxes on the application, so sort of self cetification.

Having seen the vid, dont tar all elderly drivers with the same brush, loads of young idiots out there.

2:00 - guy on motorbike drives into clio - the clio clearly pulled out on him, but he had more than enough time to react and avoid it. You can hear him on the throttle as he approches. typical DCW out to prove a point.

The problem is that an elderly person with dodgy eyesight etc probably knows that he/she shouldn't be driving, and young idiot doesn't realise he/she is an idiot.

Self certification is wrong for the elderly (I have first hand experience of this from my Father in Law) who really could have killed someone because he was driving with cataracts so bad he could hardly see.

Young idiots need to have their licences taken away as well and given some sort of slapping and community service until they learn not to be tossers

The Q7 driver is clearly an absolute f*cking tool! Coming to a near stop on a slip road to a motorway is mental. No idea if the driver of the camera car did anything to provoke but to stop like that and then brake test on the actual motorway is damn stupid.
