I was of the understanding that the top mirror, that looks down, rather than backwards was designed to cover the blindspot being demonstrated. I appreciate that it may not be a 100% solution, but I wonder why it wasn't shown in the video?

Most likely on the dole. It's a bit like Bodybuilding Misc sometimes, just more car focused. You can tell some of them are manchildren when they use the rolling laughing head emoji like a teenage girl would to her friends.
I really don't care what some prize strap-on thinks of me. There you go, another one to report.

GOlf highlighted at the start and the Golf that brakes in front of the truck is different.
Unless is has steel wheels with trims on the one side, and big bradford alloys on the other.

It literally looks down on the wheel, you can't see anything in front or behind it, the vision only goes out about a foot or so.

At the point he "fell" off he was at the front corner of the truck, completely in the drivers blind spot, looking in the mirrors won't help there. He's rolling round on the pavement like a girl by this point

Interesting that the high level brake light wasn't working. You know, the one that a truck driver would see.

Never been in an HGV, so didn't know exactly what the driver can see from the top mirror - doesn't sound like they are much use then.

Yeah our dramatic cyclist is a plonker for going up the inside of the lorry in the first place, especially when they usually have warning stickers on the back especially for this situation. Its a bit of a pet hate of mine to see cyclists ride up the left of any car - I see them do it in traffic and then get surprised when a vehicle turns left in to a side road as they ride up the inside at 15-20mph. It appears as if some of them think every other road user should give them priority at all times.

Bicycle versus truck. Driver failed to stop - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfGlrRS5hoU
Why is the cyclist doing an impression of a demented slug? He appeared to have a full set of working limbs afterwards so it just makes me think he's a bit of a precious little pumpkin. If he doesn't still live at home with mummy I'd be very surprised.

The truck made a mistake though, I know about blind spots etc but he wasn't indicating left but there was a slight left hand curve which he cut. Without seeing the rest of the road it's hard tell if he had much choice though and if I was cycling I wouldn't put myself there coming up to a curve but sadly many cyclists don't think that far ahead. From the video comments the truck company has admitted liability.

I think he might be trying to get the lorry driver sent off? Fair amount of rolling around going on there.

I'd love to know what his injuries were the way he was writhing around like a salmon at the end.

I've had plenty of hefty crashes on bikes and witnessed even more but never have I reacted like that nor seen someone react like that!

Cracking bit of footage. Whenever I've seen these hay bale wagons out and about, I often wonder what their stability is like as obviously the centre of gravity can't be placed at the bottom of the load. This goes to show how easy it must be to tip one over.

Looks like the bales were already leant over before the corner. Are they not secured in any way?! eek

He reminded me of a small child being told to do an impression of a 'really really wriggly worm'

Having been knocked off my bike by an overtaking bus who pulled back in on me due to oncoming traffic, I can confirm rolling around was the last thing I wanted to do, I was too busy lying there going "ouch" redcard
