Unfortunately van was reacting to idiots on slip road. Anticipation and reaction was way too slow though on van drivers part.
Yep, if you see something like that happening in front of you the 'normal' thing to do is to back off and leave room should something happen. Not potentially make matters worse by sticking to your guns!
Absolutely right, observe, anticipate, and take action. Treat evey one else on that as an idiot.

The 'cam car' was a bus which if he had swerved into L2 would probably have hit the van that appears at the end of the clip.

I did think similar. As surely the dashcammer should have started noticeably slowing more than he was. I can only guess he thought he'd drive round and realised the lane wasn't empty to his right by which point he hadn't slowed enough.

I'd have said avoidable too looking at the footage at least.

You're not wrong!

2.38 > Biker riding far too fast for the conditions.
3.40 > Enter an ambiguous roundabout side by side at your peril.
4.36 > DCW. Spotted that a country mile back from the road positioning of the car infront yet still they scoot alongside then lean on the horn.
5.10 > DCW tries to block a legit overtake prior to a merge point. Cock.
6.37 > DCW jumps a red light when it's still red/amber.
7.08 > DCW UNBELIEVABLE!! Spots a car indicating left and tries to accelerate under him then leans on the horn. .
8.10 > DCW. What the fk were they doing? Camera car at fault AGAIN.
9.08 > DCW. What a . Allow the car infront to complete their manoevre. You .

You could see something going on before the X3 got brake checked, flashing of headlights near the start of the clip - obvious something was up.

Plenty of dash cam muppets in there and some really poor driving. What was the Skoda driver thinking at just past the 3 minute mark!

I cycle to work and I have seen enough videos of people being burst by HGVs to think "I'm not going up the side of that".

There is a brief moment when he lands and checks his camera is on him before he breaks out into the earthworm mating ritual.

The cam car was actually a bus. This is the text from the video ...

A Storrington man has narrowly avoided prison after his aggressive and petulant driving caused a three vehicle crash.

Police have released the CCTV from the bus involved in the collision, near Shoreham in November 2015, which shows Allwright's actions.

The 29-year-old from West Street, Storrington, eventually pleaded guilty at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (January 12) to dangerous driving and was given a two year ban with extended retest, 200 hours of community service and around £835 in fines and costs, being told he narrowly avoided 12 weeks imprisonment.

At around 7.30am on November 27, 2015, Allwright was driving his Peugeot 308 joining the cloverleaf slip road from Shoreham onto the eastbound A27 and aggressively overtook a BMW X3 as they both joined. The driver of the BMW flashed him and Allwright braked ahead of the BMW and stopped in the middle lane of the 70mph road. His action caused the Compass bus to hit the BMW, which then shunted into his Peugeot.

PC Jon Bennion-Jones, from the Arundel road policing unit, said: "Fortunately, there were no passengers on the bus and the incident was caught on their CCTV system. This could have been much more serious and could have resulted in someone being injured or killed.

Allwright's actions show his total disregard for anyone else and how a moment of madness has cost him his licence.

Or maybe he knew he had an escape route so it was a non-event to him?

Bit of a lesson for all of us though, not to cross the second the light is red for the traffic,or without ensuring it has stopped/is stopping.....

Feel gutted for the owner of the car that fell off and tumbled over the barrier. Interesting though how the other drivers seem completely brain dead after coming to a stop, I imagine they may be dialling 999 but it seems they can't figure out what to do next. I wonder how long the Note driver spent dabbing the brake pedal
