I've recently bought an rs. Having previously owned the new civic type r then all the reviews about the ctr having the slight dynamic edge is true for me.
That said it's a close call and for an every day all weather performance hatch then the focus is the better package overall for me.
This is largely due to the RS being able to remain unfazed by our crap climate where it's normally wet or damp a lot of the time.
I can see the ctr being the more satisfying track steed but in reality for me I wouldn't be buying either for track driving.
I think the ctr looks better and has way more space, particularly the boot but the RS is still practical enough.
Also a factor for me is residual value as I change cars very often and the RS seems to fare well.
