Always thought SUVs suited chunky square lines better eg original jeep wagoneer, jeep cherokee xj, original range rover, merc g wagen. Best of recent years I thought was non uk mercedes glk, good and tank like, robust and square jawed. The transfer of 'brand identity' by audi, maser, bentley, jag and now alfa, perhaps necessary to ensure sales, unfortunately dilutes all those brand histories. Move with the times perhaps, but there is little connection between this Stelvio and the lithe, nimble bertone gt, giulia super, alfetta or 75 of yesteryear, each of which were superb to drive, though probably not that good off road.

Looks a bit blobby. I don't feel anything, just another SUV. Would make a nice rental car.

Looking forward to the Lotus SUV.

Edit. I like the steering wheel.

It will be based on the Elise platform I believe ...

Haha! I quite like that, a Lotus midengined Z4Coupe

But have a feeling it'll look more like this
