Michelin Pilot Sport 4
Discussion
I was looking at these up until last week, I ended up going for Vredestein Ultrac Vorti's instead as they were £30 a tyre chesper!! And pretty much every review I've seen rated them just as highly.
Ignore reviews about them not being good in the wet, I've pushed them a fair bit this week to see how good they are and can't fault them. The car feels a bit more responsive than with the old Pilot Sport 3's on it before also.

Pilot Sport 3 is a completely different class of tyre to the PS2/PSS/PS4Ignore reviews about them not being good in the wet, I've pushed them a fair bit this week to see how good they are and can't fault them. The car feels a bit more responsive than with the old Pilot Sport 3's on it before also.
You'll find the Vreds wear a lot quicker than the Michelins, my Pilot Super Sports generally last between 20/30k miles on the non driven wheels, which I find incredible and worth the premium just for that.

Honestly they are probably the best tyres on the market for road use. However you pay a premium for that claim. Whether that premium is worth it or not is entirely personal preference.
I used to think so too. But I'm now on branded Pirellis, and they are as good, if not better. Michelins do suffer from aqua-planing more than others when they get to 4mm left. So best tyres on the market for road use? Sometimes, but not always. fatboy b said:
