Allegedly (and would love to hear if anyone knows specifics) an engine problem causing a sales stop on TTRS and delayed launch on RS3...

I wonder if it's similar to the alleged engine shortage issue on S4/S5? Although it's just rumours, there isn't anything about that really of substance on them engines

2.5 turbo on the TTRS/RS3 and a 3.0 V6 twin turbo? on the S4/S5

Yes, doesn't mean it won't be related though. If they have an issue with a particular part or type of part used on them engines it could cause shortages on both. I just thought it was a strange coincidence that's all, if coincidence is what it is.

Best get it ordered then!

It amazes me that the RS3 saloon is taking so long, one would think that there wouldn't be a lot to putting a known drive train in a different car based on the same platform! Like the new Golf R, S3 engine, new front bumper alloys screen and virtual cockpit but it's not a seamless changeover?

  • Audi UK has been allocated an extremely limited number of cars. No factory orders available, Centre stock only. Correct at time of publication, November 2016.
In fairness, maybe this explains it ??

To be fair, I am loving my RS3 in these grubby road conditions ...

The only change has been from a cast iron crankcase to aluminium saving a fair amount of weight ...

As for the extra power, this is nothing that a remap wouldn't achieve ... ??? So ?
